Feb 12, 2003 President Bush is on the verge of a profound achievement because he is acting on principle. He is acting on some Higher Guidance that is propeling him to rid the world of a tyrant in Bahgdad. This action, this destruction of evil, will go down in history as a great triumph because Bush recognized evil and destroyed it. Never mind politics. The War Room is no longer beset with USA Today snap polls and op-ed pieces from the New York Times. The War Room is instead outfitted with the maps of the Iraqui desert and with plans to achieve victory. The War Room is turning out brave men and women who are loaded for bear and are ready to die for the cause. This will make George W. Bush a man of achievement for as Henry Kissinger stated, “All truly great achievements in history resulted from actualization of principles, not from the clever evaluation of political condition.” And it is political condition that our former president was concerned with, not principle. This will indeed put Clinton in the history book as a president who was marginal at best. His bomb dropping activities had nothing to do with principle because he himself had nothing to do with principle. Clinton was clever. Clinton was shrewd. Clinton was sharp. But all of those things will get you nowhere when you have no guidance upon which to base them save the guidance of self-preservation. Bush has been labeled as being the opposite of all of the things that Clinton was. He is supposedly not too clever, not too shrewd, and not too bright. The measurement of a man is not based on these things however. The measurement of a man is based on his ability to have principles and stick to them. His ability to be concerned with values, ethics, and morality. By this measurement, Clinton could not stand in the shadow of Bush’s little finger.
