Feb 11, 2003 France and Germany are our allies? Really? Huh. Let me think about this. I suppose another word for ally would be "friend". Correct? Well, I always prefer to look at things in the simplest terms possible so let's imagine that you had a friend named Jeremy and a friend named Frenchy. Now lets imagine that you were getting death threats from some psychopath that lived in the neighborhood. You would be concerned obviously. You would also be proactive. Wouldn't you? Wouldn't you try doing all that you could to protect yourself? One of those things that you would do would to call your friends and ask them for help. You would call up Jeremy and say, "Hey, do you remember that time that your Dad was a total psychopath and I came over to your house and I kicked his ass for you?" Jeremy would say, "Uh...sure, I remember. You broke a few lamps and stuff during the process, but you did make my life a lot easier." You would say, "Broke a few lamps? I paid for everything I broke and I gave you a bunch of money for you to get back on your feet." Jeremy’s reply would be, "Oh, yeah. That's right, you did. Well, what’s up dude?" You would say, "Look, that crazy bastard Ira Insane has been building a bomb in his basement and he has been slipping these death threats under my door. He has also been playing ding-dong-ditch a lot and it is really starting to piss me off. I need your and Frenchie's help to get rid of him. He says that he is not the one who is sending me the notes but I know that it is. No one else in the neighborhood writes with a black crayon on toilet paper and calls that a note. I know it is he. Can you help me?" Jeremy would say, "You know what, I appreciate your help with my psycho dad a few years ago, but well, I got a lot of my stuff that I loaned Ira at his house and I would hate for it to get broken. Sorry." You would understandably be pissed. You would then approach Frenchy with the same request for help reminding him that you kicked Jeremy’s crazy dad out of his house too. You went out of your way to make sure that Jeremy’s dad left Frenchy alone. Guess what Frenchy says? "Well, you see, I know that Ira Insane is a little unstable, but I loaned him some money and I am afraid that if you get rid of him he won't pay me back and I need the money." You know what you would do? I know what I would do. I would look at both Frenchy and Jeremy and say, "Get bent. I'll take care of this myself. Oh, and don't EVER call me again."
