Fort Wayne
Dec 4, 2002

I recently moved to Fort Wayne from Denver, Chicago, Boston and LA. Yikes! you might be thinking--why would anyone choose Fort Wayne over those other great cities. Well, let me try to answer this very important question. First of all, its a sign of the times. Even an independent Aquarius like me is finding it difficult to live completely away from family and friends. But even more than that, Fort Wayne is only about 20 miles from Hicksville,Ohio! It is also has an airport which is frequented by Harrison Ford.

It is also better for my dehydration. Denver can be really hard on a anxious, depressed, as well as medicated, person like me who has acide reflux. I have been told that the meds that I take on a daily basis makes more dehydrated. Also, my acid reflux makes it hard to swallow very much of anything, including water. Hard to believe? Look it up in Ripleys! Just kidding.

But seriously folks, the best thing about FW is the librarys main branch. However, in about a month they are moving to a temporary site so they can knock down the dear old building and put up a new one.

In Denver, when they built a new library, it was sensational--except for the fact that you could never get on a computer and all the guards walked around like they were the SS or something. But, oh well, Frank Lloyd Wright would have been oh so proud of the architecture-- prairie style in a mile high town.

Speaking of elevation, my sisters basement is the lowest house in her neighborhood-twice it has flooded to its very tippy-top. What a great place to buy a house. Whatever you put in your basement will automatically becomed antiqued--or destroyed.

Choices are also much easier here--the thinking box is rather on the small side--especially compared with Denver. Makes it much easier to accept the current presidency-as well as the state of the nation.

So, hi and goodbye you all from the great public library in downtown FW.

PS: there are developers here hoping for a downtown renaissance. I say: Good Luck!

Also, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.
