Feb 21, 2003 As the bowling game was getting near finished, we all decided to head on home. While my dad was busy paying for our games, our friends Kate and Kelly had just came into the bowling alley. As my parents got to talking with Kate and Kelly, I strolled on down to the soda pop machines. As I drank my pop, I glanced down the hallway leading towards the video game room. At this distance, I could plainly hear the shouts and screams of kids happily playing the games. After five whole minutes, my parents came around and we left to go home. Upon leaving the bowling alley, we stepped outside to a down pour of rain in the parking lot. As we ran towards the jeep, I could not help but notice a purse lying on the ground. Figuring that the purse would become soaking wet after a while, I picked it up and carried it to the jeep. My parents noticed me with it and wondered what was up, After telling them that I had found it in the parking lot, my dad took it and began to take it back to the bowling alley. Unfortunately, the alley had just closed for the night. So, we thought that we would try the next day to see if we could locate the owner of the purse. The next day, we took off for the bowling alley. The manager there had told us that it would be a better idea to give the purse to the local bank instead. Since the bank was about 20 minutes away, we stopped in to have a bite to eat. As we sat there and had our food, I got to thinking that maybe I should keep the money to buy the hot new video game that I always wanted. Both my mom and dad could see that I was struggling with this decision and told me that the advice is to give the purse back. In addition, my good deed will make me happy and there wouldn't be any guilt associated with it. At the bank, the representative told us that we could leave the purse with them and that they will track down the owner. Pleased with that bit of news, we headed on down to the shopping mall so that my parents could buy some music tapes and a new video game for me. After two long hours of shopping, we got back home and immediately checked the phone messages. The very first one was from the bank, they had found the owner of the purse and that we should get over to the bank right away. As we got there, we were greeted by an older lady who was so happy that we had found her purse. She was absolutely thrilled to learn that it was me who had found her purse. In fact, she was so happy; that she gave me $50.00 as a reward for finding her purse. The bank was equally impressed with my good deed that they also gave me $50.00 and immediately put $100.00 into a savings account for me.
