June 4, 2004 People can say whatever they want about the Bible and whether or not they believe it. I for one do believe it and I believe that every prophecy given in the Bible will one day came to pass. One case in point is the Bible's prophecy concerning the end times. The Bible prophesied that Israel would be a nation again. Prior to 1917 this was thought impossible. Then, in 1917 the Balfour declaration started allowing Jews to return to their homeland. This was very significant. Still, Israel did not have a country of its own. Then, in 1948, after a long and arduous struggle, the UN voted to allow Israel to be its own country. Just 50 years before, this would have been unheard of. Unheard of unless you read the Bible and believed what it said. Believers were not surprised. I said all of that to say this: Believers should not now be surprised that the apparatus for the "mark of the beast" is now here. I believe that we are getting a glimpse into how the mark will be delivered and what purpose it will serve. The Bible says that the Antichrist will cause "all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, except he that had the mark…" (Revelation 13:16) There are some interesting things to notice in these verses. First of all, it stated that the mark will be in their right hands or in their foreheads." In? Why not on? Wouldn't a visible mark be on not in? Not in this case it wouldn't. The second important thing to realize is that the work "mark" in original Greek comes from the word "palisade" or "stake." Why is this so interesting? Here is why: Right now, a company named "Verichip" is producing a chip that is shaped like a stake or a palisade, and it is inserted into the skin. What does this chip do? It contains all kinds of personal information on it, including financial information. Don't believe me? Peep this article from the British Journal Insourced: "Partygoers at the Baja Beach Club in Barcelona will be able to dance their way to the bar, pick up a drink and walk away without paying. They have agreed to have a small Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip inserted under their skin, which means everything they drink will be credited to their account. The moment they walk into the executive lounge at the club, the system will detect who they are. The VeriChip miniaturized Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Device is the core of all VeriChip applications. About the size of a grain of rice, each VeriChip contains a unique verification number, which can be used to access a subscriber-supplied database providing personal related information. And unlike conventional forms of identification, VeriChip cannot be lost, stolen, misplaced or counterfeited. Once implanted just under the skin, via a quick, painless outpatient procedure (much like getting a shot), the VeriChip can be scanned when necessary with a proprietary VeriChip scanner. A small amount of Radio Frequency Energy passes from the scanner energizing the dormant VeriChip, which then emits a radio frequency signal transmitting the individuals unique verification (VeriChipID) number. The VeriChip Subscriber Number then provides instant access to the Global VeriChip Subscriber (GVS) Registry - through secure, password protected web access to subscriber-supplied information." Pretty incredible isn't it? Notice that the chip is put "just under the skin." Also notice that the partygoers financial information is contained on this chip. What else does Verichip have planned? Read for yourself from their website: "In the financial arena, the company sees enormous, untapped potential for VeriChip as a personal verification technology that could help to curb identity theft and prevent fraudulent access to banking (especially via ATMs) and credit card accounts. VeriChip's tamper-proof, personal verification technology would provide banking and credit card customers with the added protection of knowing their accounts could not be accessed unless they themselves initiated -- and were physically present during -- the transaction." All-righty then. Say you don't believe. Say that it is all just a bunch of conspiracy hype. While you are waiting in line to be implanted a couple of years from now you might want to keep in mind that you are doing your part to fulfill prophecy. Just a thought, and a pretty darn scary one at that. ------------ Email Wesley Mills: wmills1@rochester.rr.com. Tell a friend about this site! ------------ |
