Sept 30, 2003 Bob Lonsberry was a writer and radio talk show host in my home city. He was on the radio for 10 years and he had the highest rated talk show in my town. He recently stated that a monkey had escaped from the zoo and that the monkey was running for county executive. Well, as it so happens, the Mayor of our fine city is black and the mayor also happens to be running for County Executive. Oops, on his part. Well, anyway here is the letter that I sent to our local fishwrap. If anything should happen to me you will know who to look for. Kris Kristofferson said it so well. In his song "Jesus was a Capricorn" he said, "Everybody's got to have somebody to look down on, Who they can feel better than at any time they please, Someone doing something dirty decent folks can frown on, If you can't find nobody else than help yourself to me." So it was with Bob Lonsberry. The Politically Correct Elites have been looking down on him for years and have gotten their jollies from feeling much better than him and the people to whom he spoke. They wouldn't be caught dead listening to him and they certainly wouldn't want you to be listening either. So they waited. They waited for him to make some stupid remark that they could pretend hurt them in some way. They waited for an opportunity to use their self-righteous hypocrassy for all it was worth. Bob said something that they could finally use to do what they have always wanted to do: silence him. And so it is. They would do the same with Rush Limbaugh if they could, and Bill O'Reilly, and Dr. Laura, and, well the list goes on. Don't be fooled though, if your thoughts and opinions differ from the politically correct elites they will do all that they can to silence you as well. Where is the tolerance? Where is the diversity? Where is the forgiveness that these people all preached that we should have in connection with Bill Clinton and in connection with Jesse Jackson? It is where it has always been: Within their own camps. People of differing opinion need not apply, and for that matter, they do not apply. The only things that do apply are their opinions and their beliefs which they are all to happy to shove down your gullet and you are supposed to happily accept what they preach because it is for your own good, and by God it is for the good of the community. Why should you care about a community of which you are obviously not a part? Conservative, Christian, Common Sense speakers and thinkers are far from a part of the Politically Correct Elitist community and God help them if they try to be.
