John Edward
Aug 11, 2003

Statistics have recently shown that the very rich are much more likely to watch "Crossing Over with John Edward" than are the rest of us poor schmucks. Huh. I wonder why. It could be that they have the time to sit around and wonder about their loved ones who have croaked, I mean crossed over. Could be that they have never seen a U-Haul behind a hearse, hence they want to know what their dearly departed have for creature comforts. In any case you had better believe that John Edward knows who is watching him. It all ads up to one thing: MONEY. Not, as he claims, giving people hope. (By the way, giving them hope of what? Hanging around in soul form and waiting to talk to some wierdo like John Edward? THAT is the afterlife?) Not, as he claims, giving us all a glimpse into the hereafter. (Do you believe in the hereafter? Good. Then you know what John Edward is here after.)

Anyway, the truth of it all is that what John Edward does is a simple, stupid, parlor trick. No, really it is. Watch this: "I'm getting the letter "C". Does the letter "C" mean anything to anyone? Sure it does. Maybe your deceased Father's name was Chuck. What about the month of August? Is that significant? Your birthday is in August? Well,he wants me to tell you that he is glad that he no longer has to spend money on gifts for you because you never appreciated what he got you!" See genius, pure genius! Hey, maybe I have a gift! Do you have any wealthy friends?
