Mar 7, 2003 Today we will look a little bit at why Jesus came to earth and what that means for us as believers. When you read 1 John 3:8 we see that Jesus came to destroy the devils works. Well what are the devils works? In the Gospel we learn that the “enemy” comes to steal, to kill and to destroy but Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. (John 10:10) Jesus came down here to help us get to heaven, that is true, but Jesus also came to give us a great life down here. I John 5:14 tells us that if we ask for anything according to the will of God that he will give it to us. What a great release for us as believers. If we are seeking health, we will receive it. If we are seeking a reconciled relationship, we will receive it. If we are seeking peace, we will receive it. We don’t have to hope we will get it we know we will get it because all of these things line up with the will of God. As you look through the ministry of Jesus we see him healing, helping, and mending. He instilled confidence in people and caused their faith to rise. Jesus tells us when we see him we have seen the father.(John 14:9) Therefore all of these things are in accordance with God’s will for your life. Ask God for them and expect to receive them. God doesn’t lie. Spend time today looking through God’s word to find the things he has promised you (I would spend some time in Deut 28 and Jeremiah 29:11) I will see you tomorrow.
