Apr 22, 2004 Recently I witnessed an accident where the victim was different. I am not sure whether this person was from a foreign country or just from down the street. Thing is, what I saw was not normal for any human I have ever seen. The person was for a lack of better words not quite all there. The person responsible was drunk and received only minor injuries. He had come from the mayor’s house where an election party was going on. The guy was the new mayor and had received like 76% of the people’s vote. Now don’t get me wrong. I am not prejudiced or biased in any way. As I watched, this person got out of his car. Well… not quite like that. It was like an arm crawled out from the window. A leg appeared from under the car and his head rolled from down the street. His body was up in a tree and I swear I saw things or something moving around inside of the cavity. The head stopped and the eyes actually looked around I guess trying to locate the body. After witnessing the body up in the tree with the movement that is when I lost my lunch. There was nothing I could do. The drunk driver walked over to the guys head and started talking to it. He was telling the head how sorry he was and that if there was anything he could do all the head had to do was ask. Well the head talked the guy into going into the tree and get his body for him. The guy agreed and got up and walked over to the tree. Looking up he sees the body stuck on a couple of limbs. He tries to climb the tree but seems to be having a lot of trouble. Every time he got a couple of feet off the ground, he would fall back down. Being drunk didn’t help matters any. He eventually did finally get up into the tree. He got the person’s body unhooked and it fell to the ground with a thud. The head screamed out in pain as the body hit. Man, you could have at least been nice enough to not drop my body. Being drunk the man replied, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would hurt you like that”. Rolling over to the body the head reattached itself as did the arms and legs. They never even knew I was there. Once the body was reassembled, it got into the vehicle it had been driving and did something. The vehicle miraculously repaired itself and then he made it look like the drunk had hit a telephone pole. He immediately left the scene and I never did see him again. When police arrived on the scene they found the drunk up in the tree snoring away. When they got him down he started ranting about having hit another vehicle. The police were kind of at a loss as the only vehicle they saw was the drunks. Once they had the guy cuffed and in the back seat of the cruiser, the guy wouldn’t shut up. He kept going on and on about talking to ahead and that he had climbed the tree so he could get the body down. The police knew this guy was nuts. There was no way any other vehicle had been involved in the accident. So once they got him to the local precinct, they called up the local hospital and asked if they could send a wagon to take the guy into custody for an evaluation. The guy failed the evaluation and remains in the hospital to this day still going on about the body he had hit. ------------ ABOUT THE AUTHOR: My writing is weird and strange and I try to be different.
