Aug 29, 2003 Today is the age of homosexuality or at least it appears to be as more and more we hear of same sex marriages, gay bishops and gay pride. With the media and liberal politicians promoting homosexuality you would think everyone is involved in this lifestyle. In Canada for example Prime Minister Jean Chretien is even pushing a bill that same sex marriage should be legal. The problem is that homosexuality is not legal according to God's word. First let us look at what the word of God says on this issue. I Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV) says "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." As we can see by this scripture any immoral sex act including homosexuality is sin in God's eyes. Society, lawyers, the courts may attempt to legalize homosexuality and may eventually do so however according to God it is still sin. Now anyone who condemns homosexuality is called old fashion and out of step with the times. If you are a Born Again, Bible believing, Christian you are called everything from a Bible thumper to promoting hate against gays. Nothing could be further from the truth as Christians love the homosexual but not their perverted sexual practices that are an abomination to a righteous and Holy God. When we as a society leave the covenant marriage relationship between a man and a woman we are clearly in sin and disobedient to God. Homosexuality is called the sin of sodomy. It was in the Old Testament of the Bible that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God where homosexuality ran rampant. In Leviticus 18:22 (KJV) scripture states "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is an abomination." In Genesis 13:13 (NIV)it says "Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord." So God was not about to tolerate and allow these two cities to continue in their livestyle of sin and debauchery. Today however God does not destroy cities like he did in the Old Testament because we are now in the period of mercy and grace. This however does not mean that homosexuals and others involved in perverted sin can continue as they please. We understand that God has simply taken a step back and has allowed sin, disease and death to take its natural course of action. This of course opens the door to satan and the penalty of the curse of the law that brings on sexually transmitted disease. Romans 1:24-28 says "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; By reading this portion of scripture it certainly appears that this same sin of homosexuality is deeply ingrained and promoted in today's culture. God certainly did not create homosexuals to have a perverted sex life. In fact God set boundaries and warnings and gave them a free choice to obey Him. Homosexuals are not born that way as some will tell you for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. People fall into the homosexual lifestyle by following after their own lusts and desires. Their thoughts and desires are of satan who kills, steals and destroys, who is the god of this world. Sex was God's idea not satan's or mankind but it has been perverted and the lie has become the truth. Even oral sex is of a homosexual origin that replaces the natural "face to face" relationship God ordained for marriage. Oral sex was never mentioned in the Song of Solomon in chapter 4 which describes the sex act. Oral sex is an unclean perverted sex act. God does love the homosexual as well as every other person that lives in the state of unrepentant sin but unless they turn from their wicked ways they will either die in their sin or when they are judged by Jesus at the Great White Throne Judgement they will be thrown into Hell itself.
