Nov 6, 2003 So who is running for President right now? Well, we know Bush is running. That’s a given. And we know that there’s a bevy of beauties running on the Democratic ticket. Probably even somebody on the Green Party, somebody on the Communist Party and even on the Nature Party are running. I can’t name them all. Yet. I want to be informed but I have trouble. One Democratic wannabe president was the focus of a flash mob of people at Space Needle. One Republican-turned-Democrat use to make concise and sensible statements as an expert on Fox News and isn’t that a conservative format albeit fair and balanced? And then there is the question of whether Mrs. Will-She-or Won’t-She, the New York Senator, run for President? Hollywood is supposedly liberal but then there’s Arnold, the Republican married to a dynasty Democrat with a large family. So exactly who will he support in the Presidential Election? Will more government money go to California in the next few years? How about contracts? All I can do is ask questions that have in my opinion no clear answers. Yesterday was Election Day. Some people wept for joy and some people wept for sadness as they won or lost. I am just glad I wasn’t running for any office. Why would anybody run for anything? The candidates have every corner of his or her life searched and picked apart by hordes of inquisitive individuals hoping to make a buck or two. Unflattering photographs of the running candidates and many other events that transgress good taste besiege the public. How about publishing the grades the candidates got in high school and college? How about publishing the companies that they’ve been involved with financially? Even more interesting is how about reporting in detail for a change the lobbyists that they supported? Just more questions. I’m boring myself. Of course, this IS all useless knowledge since it’s only an opinion. I’m taking my cat for a walk. I like to do that since it amuses the neighborhood citizens to see a bald man leading a fifteen-pound cat down the street on a daisy chain. ------------ To learn more about the author: visit www.RDLarson.com or email RD Larson: RD Larson419@aol.com Comment on this column in the forum.
