War On Terrorism Or War To Increase Terrorism?
Feb 14, 2003

What is it that makes the USA so favorable of war and does not even want to consider the option of a less violent solution?

This whole thing started as a war on terrorism. And since that war started many terrorist and members of terrorist networks have been arrested. Afghanistan was attacked and is now under the control of the United Nations (currently under Dutch – German command).

So far so good!

Then there was still the Iraq issue. Why not settle that too, now that we are busy with terrorism. On it self that is not a bad idea. Eventually Iraq was going to go really bad again, or would start helping the terrorists. No doubt about that. But as with many good ideas, the way you tell it, is half your success.

“We will smoke them out of their holes, we will hunt them down.” Something like that was said by USA President Bush. (And he still is saying those things.) Guess what the world thought when he said that: “Hmm... crazy cowboy talking.”

Result: First battle already lost!

From the beginning the USA has been trying to get the world to go to war with Iraq. That was so obvious that many people started to get against the idea. The USA/Bush is being so aggressive that even normal Muslims are now changing their minds: “Maybe Osama Bin Laden was not completely crazy. The USA really is trying to control the world.”

Result: More Terrorism!

Now Heathrow Airport in London is being protected by the army. In the USA there ground to air defensive missiles set up in Washington en NYC. This whole war on terrorism seems to result in the opposite of the original goal.

In the end Bush may be well be right, but why is it so difficult for him to be more tactful?

A clean and fast war is what they expect. I really doubt that that is what will happen. First of all this whole war is going to be an excellent feeding ground for brain washing young Muslims to go to war against the USA / Britain / NATO. Not a war with an army, but a war through terrorism.

Iraq (Sadam) will not give the country away. He will try to create a war that is much bigger than Iraq. Attack other countries, especially Israel. And yes, then we do find out that he has been lying all the time and Bush was right. But keep in mind that the grave yards are full with people that were right.

Just one thing to think of: What would the world look like if Bush would have been President of the United States during the Cuba crises? I do not even want to think about it..

Why is diplomacy so difficult for Bush? Or is he just scared? With North Korea he has no problem with diplomacy. But they have an army of one million and nuclear missiles. That makes a whole difference.

This war will not be clean and fast. I really am afraid that it will last 2 to 3 decades. Maybe not in Iraq, but it will start there.
