Stuff That's Been Clogging My In Box
Mar 11, 2004

When I left Hawaii back on the 7th of February I packed several "A" Sections of the "Honolulu Advertiser" in my luggage. These were the sections with the stories and articles I wanted to comment on as well as the (mostly liberal) OP ED columns. I need to start cleaning out some of this stuff.

Hawaii did not hide the fact that Sen. Dan Inuye had grabbed the lion's share of military dollars for his state to the tune of $1.4 billion dollars. QUOTE: "Inouye is among the top five that make it rain." Yes, he is a democrat, and the "Top ranking democrat on the Defense Appropriations subcommittee." Two companion articles were headlined: "Inouye, a master at milking the federal budget" and "Inouye, what others call pork, he calls opportunity" I think that about says it all. The liberal "Advertiser" was very proud of Hawaii's native son.

There was an election matrix on one of the second pages, detailing the differences between Bush and seven of the nine democrat candidates for the office of President. 1) Bush wants to make all tax cuts permanent. Clark, Dean, Edwards, Kerry, Kucinich and Sharpton would repeal or eliminate all the cuts while Lieberman was the only one honest enough to use the word "increase". 2) In the Battle of Iraq, Bush ordered the battle and is now helping the rebuilding of the country and the formation of a free society. Dean, Kucinich and Sharpton would have given Saddam a free ride. Clark both supported then did not support the battle, which washed his opinions out. Kerry and Edwards supported the war resolution but then did not support maintaining funds for the troops which made no sense at all. Liebermen was the only one to support the battle and the funding for the troops. 3) Abortion: Bush says only in cases of rape, incest or in the possibility of the mother's death. he also signed the partial birth abortion ban. Kerry and Lieberman opposed the partial birth ban and Edwards managed to be absent from all votes on that while maintaining a pro-abortion stance. Clark, Dean, Kucinich and Sharpton all see no problems with murdering innocent unborn children.

"World Trade Center death toll lowered by 3 to 2,749". The article recorded that this number will probably stand as the final count on WTC deaths. It is amazing that in 2004 only 1538 have been identified by remains. The other 1200 are only known dead by a certificate of paper. No adequate traces of 1200 souls could be found.

On a lighter note I found this: "Genetic sex marker found in papayas". Did you know that the papaya has three sexes? Yep, the male, the female and the hermaphrodite. Did you know it is the hermaphrodite that has the sweetest fruit? I think that speaks well of a marriage between a little of each sex, don't you? The female papaya produces good fruit but is less productive than the hermaphrodite. The male papaya is considered "uncommon and undesirable". Of course, feminists have been saying such things about male homo sapiens for decades. Learn something new every day.

So, I was happy to see Sen. Inouye generate so much press for himself. I have been very happy to see that the primaries have cut the democrats down to one. Perhaps now the issues will be discussed, rather than be glossed over for the politics of personal destruction. (Yeah! Right!)

It is important to remember the date September 11th, 2001 and the tragic act of war and agression against innocent people. And please, make sure you don't select any male papayas. More later. Bye-Bye for now.
