Feb 27, 2004 My, my, oh my. Someone has got a big bug up his butt. Choices between “ownership” and theft by taxes. Choices between taking personal responsibility and letting the government pull down my pants so I can take a crap. Hummm! Let me see. My colleague Craig Chamberlain has already posted a tactful refutation to the liberal thoughts of our friend and fellow colleague Chuck Tyler who has become upset at our “regime” and our current “reigning” George. I was in the process of drafting this response. I’m afraid I am not as tactful as Mr. Chamberlain, but I am compelled to words. I believe Mr. Tyler should probably be more upset at the Electoral College and the United States Supreme Court for disallowing continuous “chad” counting in Florida. After all, I have only been told a zillion (a minor exaggeration) times about how Gore beat Bush in 2000 and how that make Bush an “illegitimate” president. “Under this Republican regime we’ve seen the largest increase in government control in decades, according to Bush’s own Department of Treasury.” I don’t understand this gripe. The Democrats have always tried to expand government control and intervention into the lives of Americans. Democrats love legislation. The proliferation of gun control laws is an excellent example. The Democrats never bother to enforce the laws they make, but they sure feel good about passing them. I do understand they were disappointed in not being able to quash the “Partial Birth Abortion Bill”. They really wanted to make sure every woman had that choice to murder that baby right up to the last minute. I understand much of this expansion is also due to the co-sponsorship and bi-partisanship achieved with the education bill and the medical entitlements package. Teddy (The Wet One) Kennedy actually called the $400 billion Medicare reform “A good start.” It was also Mr. Kennedy who championed the education bill. These expanded bills came with all the necessary funding attached. Not one year after implementation, Kennedy and the NEA were out screaming for more money, specifically, for only the “No Child Left Behind” part of the overall package. Since NCLB was not the priority of the NEA, it was the last part of the bill to have funds dedicated to it. NCLB was actually the President’s priority. The NEA and Kennedy, of course, knew better than the President. It is a historically proven fact that throwing more money into already bad educational programs does nothing to make those programs more efficient. Students in these programs fail to progress. Training, testing, certification and the elimination of the NEA’s multicultural crap curriculum is the only way to improve educational achievement. “Bush is advocating a mandate to tell you who to marry.” So what? The man is entitled to a personal belief that marriage should only be between one man and one woman. He is allowed to speak that, and advocate that until the cows (carrying Clinton’s 6 year old Mad Cow Disease) come home. The President cannot make the law. That is the duty of the Congress. Neither, can the President enforce any law made by the Congress. That is the duty of the Judiciary. What the President is trying to prevent is further liberal anti-law anarchy as is happening in San Francisco, California. I believe that stopping anarchy is a noble goal. It is time for all Americans to declare themselves on the gay marriage issue. Personally, since homosexuality is in opposition to God’s mandate for a proper union, and we have seen how homosexuals discard the mandates of a majority vote to satisfy their own selfish lusts, I say let’s expand Clinton’s Defense of Marriage Act into a constitutional amendment to ban not only gay “marriage” but also any and all forms of gay unions. There are countries in the world where all these things are legal so we will not be prohibiting anyone from leaving America to pursue a life of gay unification. “…and has dictated how to educate our children without funding.” This is just a lie. As noted, the funding came with the bill and was earmarked for all the programs. The NEA and Kennedy had other priorities for their administrators and lobbyists. Whatever money was left was trickled to the schools. The NEA, acted as “middle man” ensuring they would have the funds to support their agenda with the Democrat side of the Congress. The NEA should be dismantled. They are indeed a “terrorist organization” as noted by Education Secretary Rod Paige. He has nothing to apologize for. “Oh, and by the way, you will be at the mercy of rapacious drug companies when you become dependent on Medicare, thanks to Bush’s edict on health insurance for the elderly.” Another “Good start.” touted in a bi-partisan fashion. The Medicare bill could not have passed without a number of Democrat (including Mr. “Good Start” Kennedy) votes. Everyone knows most of the provisions of the bill don’t even kick in until 2006, so there will be plenty of time to fine- tune the bill so no one gets shafted. Only one major provision needs to be added anyway: No private company should be allowed to drop any prescription drug plan already servicing retiree clients of that company. Clients may only be dropped from existing plans if they choose to leave that plan and sign up into the Medicare plan. It will always be the individual’s choice to accept the Medicare plan. Let’s talk about what is really “Real”. “Real” education reform for democrats is: Raise taxes and give more money to unions so we can get in back in campaign contributions. “Real” Medicare reform is socialized medicine with price controls. We can be just like all the other countries with socialized care and the two- year waiting lists for surgery and the six-year wait for organ donations. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. There’s that pesky 50% tax rate for all Americans to help pay for all that “free’ care too. “Real” democratic diplomacy is not “tanks and troops”, it is policies of appeasement and non-verifiable treaties, and acceptance of Communist Chinese campaign contributions, and of course, allowing the United Nations, led by France to have the responsibility to deploy American soldiers into places like Haiti and Kosovo. All of that is “Real” crap! “Don’t expect a Democratic-led government to sneak and peak in your homes to find out who you’re married to, or what library books you’ve checked out.” BUT, you can expect them to take away any guns you may legally own. You can expect them to not let you smoke or drink or eat a hamburger without pejorative taxation. You can expect your SUVs to become the size of a YUGO. You can expect to be disallowed to speak against any congressperson that happens to be an incumbent democrat or republicrat. You can expect further infringements on your religious freedoms, especially if you are a Christian. “It seems the choice is clear.” Yes, it is clear we must all vote Independent! (And I don’t mean NADER! That liberal!) Not one of these sad and sorry demic-rats or republicrats need ever be returned to their seat in Congress. It is time to replace all these blowhards with people who truly care about education and health! The next time you see an alternative candidate, listen real hard. As long as they are not WHACKO, then give them your vote and encourage others to do the same. Just remember. We bring all this crap on ourselves by supporting liberal stupidity. I still have faith that our current President knows what is going on and knows exactly what he is doing. I believe he’s been giving democrats everything they’ve wanted just so he can show us all how really silly that direction is. He is prepared to show us the contrast between ideologies and we have to give him another term to prove his point. It may turn out that Bush is as bad as our previous president, who used his second term as a fundraising platform for Communists. Clinton is why I will never trust another democrat. Trust is a difficult thing to push when you’ve been crapped on for so many years of liberal rule. Don’t give this country back to the tax-and- spenders, the appeasers, or the leftmost fringe of society. We’ve been “bamboozled” all right, and still, by the slant of the left mongers. Calm down Chuck. Give the President a chance to prove you wrong. ------------ About the Author: Independent, Conservative, Christian.
