Dec 30, 2003 If you’ve been reading my columns here in useless- Knowledge.com, you know and understand that I consider the Hebrew/Christian Bible to be the work and Word of God. You also know that I am clearly against all homosexual activity. I believe such activity is immoral, anti-biblical and therefore, anti-God. Why? “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature-- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” (Rom.1:18-32) This part of Paul’s letter to the Christian Church at Rome is very explicit and understandable. No man has any excuse for unbelief. No man has any excuse for disbelieving the one true God of Heaven. Those who chose to disbelieve were turned over to the unnatural affections of homosexuality. I believe there was a good reason for that. These people who refused to accept and recognize the one true God of Heaven were not going to be allowed to reproduce. When God dealt directly with his chosen nation, he killed outright anyone who determined rebellion to keep rebellion and sin in check. By the time of Paul’s letter, God was not dealing directly with any particular group, but was dealing individually with each believer through the agent of the Holy Spirit. I won’t get deeper into that here though. What I really wanted to address is my disappointment with the Christian community over this “gay-marriage” thing. Every Christian group that holds the Hebrew/Christian Bible as the rule of faith and doctrine should be screaming at the Massachusetts Supreme Court and producing mounds of mail to their district representatives in Congress to protect the biblical form of Man with Woman marriage. The only thing the liberal gay lobby should come away with here is a stern warning from the whole Christian community that what they practice is anti-God. They must be told the importance of repentance and faith. Sadly, the Christian community has been very quiet. It has allowed 4 apparently ungodly judges to make a law that says God’s program for marriage is unjust and wrong. Sexual immorality is an infection of sin. Infections need injections of antibiotics to heal and cure. I read an article the other day concerning the increase in outbreaks of syphilis worldwide. The increase was found most predominantly in the homosexual community. The new concern over this study is that AIDS was again on a major tear through the homosexual group. The article spoke of the “relaxed attitude” of many gays due to the development of certain drug treatments for HIV. It is a certainty that “gay-marriage” will not solve this problem. The percentage of gays that desire to live in a monogamous relationship is tiny when compared to the number of gays preferring the multiple partnerships and random entanglements that lend to the spread of STD’s and HIV. No. It is time for the Christian community and all other faiths that eschew all forms of sexual immorality to stand up and warn the sinner of his pending spiritual death. We are doing homosexuals no great favor by remaining silent about their sin. We are not showing the love of Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha or anybody else by allowing rampant sexual sin to destroy lives. There were times in human history when men did “that which was right in their own eyes”. Whenever men reached that attitude, God sent a judge to render judgment and warning. The liberal courts of this land are laying out laws that “seem right in their own eyes”. Not only have this nation’s courts usurped authority they do not constitutionally possess, but also they’ve negated laws that were given by God in favor of their own form of humanistic justice.
