One More Day In Paradise
Nov 18, 2003

The clock is starting to bug me. Today is my last full day in Hawaii and it is a workday. That's fine. I've had far too much fun this trip. Wait. Maybe I should not admit that. Oh well, too late.

I will return to New Jersey tomorrow and stay the weekend. Then I will go to Chester, Virginia to work at my real desk for a week or so before returning to the rigors of Hawaiian life.

I will be home for the Thanksgiving Holiday (I refuse to PC that to "turkey day") and my family will gather and we will give thanks to out Great, True and Only God of Heaven. I will echo the sentiments of the other UK contributors, issuing my personal thanks for our government (at least the right side) and our military.

It is funny to see Christmas decorations in an 82 degree environment. Somehow it doesn't quite fit. But it is also comforting knowing that America is surviving the ill will of the world. I read this morning (I have to stop reading the newspaper) where England's anti-everything-and-whatever crowd is going to push 60-80 thousand people into the streets to remind President Bush how much Europe hates him personally.

I am still amazed at this, but not suprised. President Bush symbolizes the cause of peace and justice. These protestors symbolize chaos, anarchy and just plain idiocy. One is quoted saying: "We have nothing against the American people, we just hate their President." Well, I have everything against those who support murderers against those who wish to see murderers brought to justice.

To hear them, we should not have overthrown Saddam the murderer. We should allow free, unchecked and government subsidized abortion. We should never eat another animal, fish or insect because it causes pain and suffering to the animal kingdom. We should let Iran, Korea and Syria develop their nuclear and chemical weapons because they have a right to defend themselves against the evil ideals of Justice, Truth, Fair Treatment of Women and Children and Religious Tolerance. We should allow the UN, under the auspices of Russia and China, to tell us what we can and cannot do to protect our own country. Cut me a break!

This is the time of the year I try to relax and turn out all my worries to the wind. I will sit, contemplating poetry, or writing a song, or just re-developing my attitudes towards friends and family (especially my idiot son-in-law). I will catch up on my reading (Absolute Power and Persecution by D. Limbaugh at the moment) and add titles to my list. And, for the next two weeks I will have access to the FOX News Channel and the Mighty Maha-Rushie returns to the air Monday! Hooray!!

I have been gone from home for a month. The honey- do's have piled up. I will probably be much too busy physically, getting my home ready for the winter to write much for the next little while.

Thank you too Useless-Knowledge. I can't express enough how much this outlet for my personal thoughts and frustrations keeps me from putting on a postal uniform, taking up an AK-47, and visiting the offices of the ACLU. Thank you.

(No. That was a joke. I do not own an AK-47.)
