He Didn't Just Leave His Wife Part II
Nov 12, 2003

I saw the photograph in the "Nation and World" section of the "Honolulu Advertiser". It was under the caption "Gay Episcopal priest consecrated." The picture reflected "Rev. V. Gene Robinson, an openly gay priest...." surrounded by 43 people in similar garb. I assumed they were other Episcopal bishops.

The article under the picture explained to me that during the consecration, bishop Robinson's male sexual companion of 15 years, Mark Andrew, and his two adult daughters presented the gold miter to him and that his ex-wife, Isabella McDaniel was also there to present Robinson for his consecration.

Heresy. Forty-four representitives of the Christian church participating in a ritual that was completely anti-biblical. Paul the Apostle wrote in his instructions to Timothy, a bishop and his friend: "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsom, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (For if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?).....Moreover, he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil." (1 Tim.3:2-5,7)

The scripture concerning what constitutes a good bishop is plain and needs no real elaboration. Robinson failed to maintain his own household. He left his wife and children fifteen years ago to live in a state of fornication with another man. As a non-Anglican; one who is among those "outside", I see Robinson as a selfish individual who is ill-temperate and covetous and sexually immoral. There are at least 43 Episcopal priests and one "significant other" who probably disagree with that.

This selfish man does not care that he is destroying traditional Christian teaching against sexual immorality. This selfish man does not care that he is setting a fire-and-brimstone example that it is OK to forsake your family to take up a homosexual relationship based in lust and self- centeredness. Robinson turns his selfish attitude completely against his detractors. He is quoted: "There are faithful, wonderful, Christian people for whom this is a moment of great pain and confusion and anger. And our God will be served if we are hospitable and loving and caring toward them in every way we can possibly muster. They must know that if they must leave, they will always be welcomed back into our fellowship." Robinson is saying, I am right, my detractors are wrong, and I am willing to accept them, only if they come to my way of thinking. Man! I have to scream here!

Robinson is the uncaring, selfish, unreasonable sinner. He is the one that left fellowship with the One True God of Heaven to accept the fellowship of the demons of sexual immorality. He says he will welcome back into his fellowship those that rightly and smartly reject fellowship with sinners. This man's selfishness has slaughtered Anglican fellowship worldwide and he doesn't care because 43 other heretics were happy to attend his consecration as bishop.

The Apostle Paul had to warn the Corinthian Church: "I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people - not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy or the swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat." (1 Cor.5:9-11).

I could fill thirty articles in Useless-Knowledge with such biblical admonitions against sexual immorality. These 44 men and women, so-called priests and bishops, know every one of them. They also, apparently, ignore every one of them. These "Bishops" are supposed to be shepherds. They are called to be spiritual leaders in spiritual matters. They should probably be sued for malpractice. By their attitude and action toward someone so openly anti-biblical, they have shown that they do not understand, or they do not believe their own gospel. I believe it would be more appropriate for these 44 people to split from the Anglican assembly and become their own sexually identifiable entity. What they are seeking is the conversion of the entire Anglican Community to the heresy of acceptance of sexual immorality.

Robinson was given an opportunity to withdraw his nomination as bishop and he refused. He knows his refusal and subsequent consecration is causing anguish and division and he just does not care. Robinson was quoted addressing the people at his consecration, calling them "a welcome sign" for gays and lesbians to be brought into the church. The Christian welcome sign has always been out for any sinner who desired to find God. But as Peter's first sermon on Pentecost proves, that welcome has always had the condition of repentance attached to it. That is something I believe all 44 of these so-called bishops have forgotten.
