Aug 6, 2004 Wow. “Unfit for Command” has not even hit the rack yet and the DNC is calling for censorship of the book and the ads for the book. The first TV ads are out to promote “Unfit for Command” and the DNC has sent letters to every media outlet asking that these ads NOT air. They want the ads censored. They recruited Sen. John McCain who denounced the ads made by men who were the military peers of Sen. Kerry and Sen. McCain. The reaction of the men supporting www.swiftvets.com was: "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has more than 250 members, many of whom were wounded or highly decorated in Vietnam. We purchased with our blood and service the right to be heard, to set the record straight about our unit, and to tell the truth about John Kerry's military service record. We respect Senator McCain's right to express his opinion, and we hope he extends to us the same respect and courtesy, particularly since we served with John Kerry. We knew him well, and Senator McCain did not." (Rear Admiral Roy Hoffman (Ret.), founder and chairman, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.) www.HumanEvents.com is running the ad and explaining the attempt to smear the good men who put together the ads for “Unfit for Command.” Now, Mr. Kerry stood before the DNC touting his military record in Vietnam. We all needed to vote for him because he spent 4 months on a “swift boat”. In fact, all the speakers at the DNC touted the heroism of Mr. Kerry. Well, the men of www.swiftvets.com have a story to tell about Lieutenant Kerry. This story beats the heck out of the bogus 3 month AWOL lie against President Bush. Now, we will know, as Paul Harvey intones: “The rest of the story.” Why would the lawyers of the DNC be calling for censorship? Mr. Kerry has asked us all to focus on his Vietnam past as proof of his ability to lead the country. He certainly hasn’t asked us to focus on his 20 years in the Senate. No. Here we have a group of men; with proven records of heroism and integrity; who served out their full terms of service in swift boats; who actually want all Americans to understand that John Kerry is “Unfit for Command.” It seems Mr. Kerry now has a choice. He can continue to deny the charges against him made by his generational peers; or he can finally act with the integrity he pretends to own as a United States Senator. He can resign to private life. Of course, you are all free to draw your own conclusions. Do I detect the onset of a draft petition? ------------ About the Author: Michael John McCrae is an Independent, Conservative, Christian who has been personally insulted as a voter because John Kerry thinks the "Heart and Soul of America" lays in the "X-rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. Well, Michael McCrae thinks America is better than that. Michael McCrae believes there is at least some morality left. So Michael McCrae is going to leave this here (until after the election) as a reminder to all of what John Kerry and John Edwards believe the Real America to be.
