July 29, 2004 Intelligence layering! Group Think! It’s all crap! David Kay quit. He resigned. He became frustrated after nine months saying: “intelligence analysts were almost all wrong” [about Iraq] and I would certainly include myself here.” Kay admitted there was “no pressure” by anyone to report anything. George Tenent told the same thing to the Senate Intelligence Committee; the very same committee that had oversight of all the collected intelligence on Iraq. This was the very same committee that issued its own 400-plus page “blame sheet” against the CIA when it was their own damn (oh darn, I meant to say darn, forgive me.) fault for not questioning the “old intelligence” in the first place. The “Intelligence” committee, in a fit of “CYA” blamed the CIA to “CTOBB” (cover their own butts BIGTIME!) NOTE: CTOBB – The “C” is silent. Now there is talk of needing an “Intelligence Czar!” Man! That’s all we need; another CZAR! What are we; Russia? Is there anyone out there with intelligence enough to be an “Intelligence Czar”? All of this tells me that nobody was doing their job. Everyone failed here. This single Czar crap is just another level of bureaucracy which will pretend to be the fix for a major intelligence screw-up by CONGRESS! Let the CIA do the job it was created to do in foreign intelligence gathering. Let the FBI do the job it was created to do in domestic intelligence gathering. Let us enforce the tenants of the Patriot Act that specifically involve intelligence sharing between all anti- crime organizations. Keep the damn (oh darn, I meant to say darn again; I’m sorry) politicians out of the whole darn (Whew!) thing! Take away all the bureaucratic layers that keep these agencies from sharing data and information. Don’t add another one! From the Senate Intelligence Committee Report comes this: “From 1991 to 1998, a time when Iraq was considered a top national security threat, little effort was made to create a U.S.-only spy network there. Because the United States had no official presence in Iraq, there was not even a plausible cover story for Americans to be in the country.” In other words; we did not even try; there was only “little effort” against a “top national security threat.” If you read Rich Lowry’s “Legacy – Paying the Price of the Clinton Years”; you will know why the FBI and the CIA dropped the ball on 9/11. The agencies were not only gutted of spies and quality people to help balance the budget, but the duties of both agencies were reconfigured to duties neither agency was suited to fulfill under Janet Reno’s justice department. They were much too busy killing religious zealots in Texas and deporting 11 year-old children from Florida to Cuba, to be concerned about the nation’s “top national security threat”. George Tenent: “No one told us what to say or how to say it”. John McLaughlin – Deputy Director of the CIA: “The men and women of the American intelligence community are not motivated or guided by political or personal agendas. They are highly skilled, highly dedicated professionals, committed to protecting and defending the American people”. And I believe they could have done a much better job if the administration of record during the years 1991 through 1998 had not gutted the agencies and changed their roles. All of these failures boil down to the Legislature, but Congress will not admit they failed in their duty to protect and defend America. Democrat Senator Zell Miller tells me in his book: “A National Party No More” that the legislature of the United States only works 150 days a year and attends parties and fundraisers the rest of the time. Both the House and the Senate have intelligence committees that are charged with the oversight of all security related issues and threats against the U.S. These men and women were too busy; just like Kerry was too busy to attend National Security briefings because they had fundraisers to go to. (Gee, it must be nice to get raises every 2 years for working that same 150 days a year.) Six investigative committees were charged with finding out what went wrong with Iraq intelligence. All these blamed the CIA when surely Congress is complicit. Rockefeller’s tirade before the Senate in October 2002 mirrored the words of President Bush; but suddenly, Jay Rockefeller considers himself “duped by intelligence” he drew his own conclusions from. The House Committee investigated; the Senate Committee investigated; the CIA Internal Review Team investigated; the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board investigated; the CIA- led Iraq Survey Group investigated and the Army had its investigators out. None of that was enough for liberal democrats out to destroy the reputation of the President. They demanded MORE. So they called for an independent (Yeah), bi- partisan (double Yeah) 9/11 Commission investigation. Now this seventh investigation doesn’t tell the liberals what they want to hear, so now Kerry is ranting that Bush MUST implement all 40 Commission recommendations IMMEDIATELY! (Of course Kerry will say that we will have to repeal all tax cuts to pay for the 40 recommendations.) All seven investigations were aimed squarely at the Administration. Bush and Blair turn up exonerated by all findings. No lies. No deceit. Only mistakes that could have been easily made by agencies gutted of key people and hampered by Torricelli (D-NJ)-sponsored rules like the CIA could not pay snitches for information if they were known scumbags. The Senate declares the CIA the bad guy and tucks tail. Nobody pressures anyone for anything. Colin Powell laid it all out. The UN Security Council ALL raised their hands and Saddam was given a final 48 hours that he snubbed his nose at. And that is why we now fight the Battle of Iraq in the War Against Terror. Well, Michael McCrae thinks America is better than that. Michael McCrae believes there is at least some morality left. So Michael McCrae is going to leave this here (until after the election) as a reminder to all of what John Kerry and John Edwards believe the Real America to be. They believe America's "heart and soul" resides in the "X-rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. You can draw your own conclusions.
