Let Me Say This About That
July 25, 2004

It makes no sense. Why are truth filled arguments, based in morality and faith, so despised and rejected by the left; yet, hateful diatribes filled with lies and unsupportable innuendo accepted as gospel by the left’s radical elements? It makes no sense.

I can understand a rejection of a point of view. But, rejection should have a basis. There should be facts that can be used as valid counter- arguments. Any rejection based in lies or hatred or outright bigotry against conservative opinion is not really worth the paper it’s printed on; so why bother? If you cannot be constructive; if you must be vulgar and despicable in your rejection of indisputable truth, then you should take your diatribe where it may be more readily appreciated; like to the John Kerry campaign headquarters.

But, let’s see. I have been recently accused of being unfair in my assessment of the political scene. I have been giving the current administration a pass while doing the mash-and- bash against all things liberal. Well, let me try to explain this so even a liberal can understand it.

I said not one thing DURING the Clinton administration. I wrote not one line against the man who had been elected twice by a minority of the American voting public. I sat silently, watching the debacle of Clinton-ism, yet, sit quietly I did. I was a soldier and Clinton was the Commander-In-Chief. Intern troubles, unilateral military aggression in the Balkans, attacks against the World Trade Center and the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the USS Cole, the tragedy of Somalia, the Waco, Texas affair, the Gennifer Flowers affair, heck, all the affairs and the complicity of Hillary throughout all of that; I kept my pen quiet. I kept my mouth shut. I tried to speak with my vote. My vote was not enough to save Senior Americans from Al Gore’s tie-breaker vote to tax their Social Security.

Why was I quiet? I was a soldier in uniform. American soldiers support America for the good or the bad; that’s what American soldiers do. I could have my opinions, and vote my conscience; and I did the right thing by keeping my opinions to myself.

Why is that?

Well, a soldier supports his country and its leadership. George Washington fought a war and he had the support of those he was defending. Lincoln fought a war and he had the support of those he was defending. FDR fought a war and he had the support of those he was defending. Even Clinton threw an occasional missile or two at a tent or an aspirin factory with the full support of those who believed they were being defended. Clinton even acted “unilaterally” without the FULL support of France and Germany. Go figure.

George Bush deliberates for 14 months; using every bit of diplomacy at his disposal; diplomacy that did not work on the nations with vested interests in oil for food and other Saddam contracts. Yet, using diplomacy that was fully capable of gaining allies that understood the danger and had no hand in the corruption; the case was presented; the evidence given; and the 17 United Nations resolutions were finally acted upon.

Now? There is no liberal who is supporting the defense of America. The liberals scream “RETREAT” because the liberals cannot bear to allow America to succeed. Iraq must be allowed to implode. The Iraqis must not be permitted schools and hospitals and safe roads and a vibrant economy. If all of that happens, then George Bush was right and all of the liberals, wrong. Liberals are not allowed to be wrong. Liberals pray for another destroyed skyscraper so they can be the ones to claim: “See, I told you so!”

Why am I quiet?

I am quiet because the Commander-In-Chief of the American armed forces deserves to be permitted to defend America. He should be accorded every possible help and bit of support from every person who benefits from a secure America. He should be given every requested penny to defend us and our children from those who murder innocent people. To distract a Commander from his duty to defend courts another 9/11, or another USS Cole, or another Kobar Towers. To call for disunity in the face of the enemy is to support and defend the enemy over the protection of Americans.

It makes no sense to suggest murderers have “rights” over innocent victims; but a liberal judiciary is prepared to defend (to the deaths of how many more Americans) the “rights” of those who have declared war against America.

There will come a day when the Bush Administration is relegated to this nation’s historical archives; but until that day, our government deserves support for every effort to protect American lives, American democracy and American freedom.

Until then, I will not take a hand in saying anything against those protecting me and my family. I will do everything possible to let them do the job they were elected to do. And I will support my government, right or wrong, as I have always done.

About the Author: Michael John McCrae is an Independent, Conservative, Christian who has been personally insulted as a voter because John Kerry thinks the "Heart and Soul of America" lays in the "X- rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. Well, Michael McCrae thinks America is better than that. Michael McCrae believes there is at least some morality left. So Michael McCrae is going to leave this here (until after the election) as a reminder to all of what John Kerry and John Edwards believe the Real America to be. They believe America's "heart and soul" resides in the "X-rated sexual innuendo" of Whoopi Goldberg. You can draw your own conclusions. Email: michael.mccrae@us.army.mil
