Unpopular Personal Opinions
Oct 28, 2003

I will ask your forgiveness up front. I actually wrote this article before coming to Hawaii, but did not get the chance to send it in. I did mention I was in Hawaii, didn't I?

My first article for "Useless-Knowledge" was entitled "Even Independents Have Opinions". I read back through it the other day and realized I had written some harsh things. I even got one piece of unflattering e-mail about it. There are a couple of things I need to expand on to help you understand me a little better.

First, I need to expand my reasoning concerning my personal opinions about abortion. I am an Independent, with a real desire to run for Frank Lautenberg's Senate seat in 2006. You might remember he was a late insertion in the 2000 Senate election in New Jersey when Senator Toricelli's ethics, or lack thereof, finally forced his ouster. It is only right that I face up to the ultimate litmus test for conservatives. So here it is. I believe in any woman's legal right to choose to premeditatedly murder their unborn child.

I am a Christian man who believes a couple of things that involve this stance on abortion. I firmly believe abortion, in all cases, is murder. There is, in all cases, a purely innocent life being willfully and premeditatedly destroyed. I believe that is the textbook definition of murder, but you can check me out on that.

Now, I also believe in freedom. I believe every person in the world has an inherant freedom to choose his or her path in the world. They are free to choose to be good, or to be evil. They are free to choose the right thing or the evil thing. So, I believe every woman should be allowed the freedom to choose to do the most horrible thing she could ever do to someone completely innocent. Every woman should be allowed the choice to commit murder.

I know the Supreme Court has declared abortion to be legal. Imagine, legal murder. It is a shame that a nation full of Christian men and women ever allowed abortion to be decriminalized. I do not fear that though. Understand, there is not one woman who has opted for abortion that has not killed someone innocent. I will be honest here. I cannot judge. That is God's authority. If I ever get a campaign off the ground in New Jersey I will ensure everyone knows that I support the freedom of any woman to choose murder over life for her unborn innocent for as long as it is not against criminal or civil law.

I will also let them know that I will do everything in my power as a U.S. Senator to overturn the judicial ruling of Roe vs. Wade which usurped state's rights to determine their own destiny concerning the legalized murder of innocents. Choice should be determined, not mandated by judicial fiat!

Secondly, I need to expand on my reasoning concerning the gay agenda. You see, I believe in the God of the Hebrew/Christian Bible. The God of the Hebrew/Christian Bible declared a man for a woman and a woman for a man. Procreation and regeneration of the race of men requires two sexes to make things work as God intended. There is no room for twenty-nine variations on any single sexual theme. A husband (male) leaves his mommy and daddy and cleaves to his female counterpart called a "wife".

The God who established the proper relationship between men and women is the same God who declared certain sexual activities improper and abominable; equating same-sex actions with those of adultery, fornication outside of marriage, and every thoughtful lust toward the opposite sex without necessary contact. The current Anglican dilemma is a perfect example of men trying to loophole God's laws concerning sexual sin. God happens to be very "black-and-white". Good is good. Evil is evil. God has given his distinctions in writing and we waste time in debate, when we should just be living in righteous belief. OK. Preach time is over.

I hope those of you who have taken the time to read this far can just understand that, as a professing Christian, it is important to remember our roots. Our roots are in a Book that many people believe, based in years of study and historical precedence is the actual Word of God.

We cannot speak for others who do not believe. We cannot judge them either. But we cannot ignore them. Christians understand their duty is to warn those trapped in sin. There is an escape into a glorious salvation offered by God to all repentant sinners. Twelve step programs work, only when the addicted admit their addiction. God can only help a sinner when a sinner finally admits his sin and asks for help. Abortion, homosexual and extra sexual activity were once considered evil based in understanding the tenants of scripture. It is time for the Christian community to find out how to return itself under God's authority, and not the rulings of unbelieving men. God has not changed any of his laws concerning sexual sin or murder. Let God be true, as Paul wrote: "God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, that thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."
