Mar 29, 2004 My mom always told me if I had nothing nice to say about someone, I should not say anything at all. So I will say the nice thing first. John Kerry is a Veteran. Mr. Kerry served in the Armed Forces of the United States. He fought in the Vietnam conflict, was wounded and received medals for valor under fire. Having been in uniform myself during that conflict I appreciate everyone who served during that dark period. Now, I will explain why I am angry and in opposition to Mr. Kerry. Mr. Kerry is disingenuous. He calls people liars and crooks, thinking the microphone is off, and then will not apologize, insisting he is correct in his assertions. I noticed Teddy (The Wet One) Kennedy right up Mr. Kerry’s fandango at the press conference too. John Kerry is a mirthless man. He hates everything! Nothing is right with America! He wants to change everything but he really doesn’t want to change anything. What he wants is to raise taxes and give his liberal constituency everything they want. And he wants to do all that with his perpetual facial frown! John Kerry is a liar. Foreign leaders all want Kerry to win. When it comes to naming his foreign supporters, neither Kerry, nor any of his campaign people, or even Teddy K. can name one that is a leader of a democratic (non socialist, non communist) society. John Kerry is a mimicker. Yes, Mr. Kerry has learned the politics of personal destruction well from such demic-rat instructors as Terry McAuliffe, Willie Jeff, Teddy K., Patrick Leahy, Charles Schumer, Charles Rangel, Chuck Nadler and Madam Hillary. John Kerry is a liberal. He voted against partial birth abortion. He wants women to be able to murder their children right up to the last minute. He would not execute Osama bin Butthead either. He doesn’t believe in Capital Punishment (except for unborn innocent people). John Kerry is a Tax and Spender. He calls for the elimination of Bush’s tax cuts, and calls for major increases in health care benefits that will slaughter the federal budget unless there are corresponding major increases in taxes. John Kerry is evil. He testified before Congress concerning Vietnam atrocities with no direct personal evidence. His entire testimony was based in hearsay based on his own word. John Kerry is hypocritical. In his protests against the Vietnam conflict he pretended to throw away his medals, actually keeping the real medals he earned for service. John Kerry can’t make up his mind. He voted to approve the battle of Iraq. Then he voted against funding required to support the troops on the ground. But in his own words he voted “for it before I voted against it.” WHAT! John Kerry is racially confused. He wants to be the “second Black President”. There are only two problems with that: 1) Blacks not only take that as insulting but 2) John Kerry really isn’t black. Now I will tell you a little story. I first entered the active Army in 1971. After I completed my basic and advanced training I was shipped to Germany, where I served out my entire term of active duty (31 months). I did not go to Vietnam and did not see combat in that theater. The day I out processed in January 1974, I was bussed from Fort Dix, New Jersey to a connector bus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was there, standing at that bus stop, in the uniform of an American soldier, I was spit on and called a “baby killer” by a group of people who looked just like the people pictured with Mr. Kerry at his war protest. I blame Kerry for that. I was never even near Vietnam, but with the help of Kerry’s testimony of second-hand information, I fell under the label of “murderer”. I stayed in the service long enough to see a day people would actually thank me for being a soldier. None of those words of gratitude and thanks belonged to any soldier until after the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. There was a brief period after the first gulf war when people accepted soldiers, but during the 8 years of military cuts and soldier misuse under a certain President, the reputation of the military was again marred to levels of dishonor. It took the response and the respect of a proper Commander In Chief, to remind Americans that the authority and world standing of America resided in the effectiveness of the American military. It was his job to ensure the Armed Forces had everything they needed, including the respect and support of the American people, to ensure their ability to perform the mission to completely defend the United States. John Kerry is not even capable of thinking in such terms. He threw away his medals. He voted against proper funding. His scorn of the military is on display. This Independent will not support Mr. Kerry. ------------ About the Author: Independent, Conservative, Christian.
