It Is Just Not The Same Darn Thing!

Among all the hype over the gay marriage issue is the idea that this is a prosecutorial issue much like the holocost of the Jews, or that it is a civil rights issue on the same historical magnitude as the movements of the 1950s and '60s. Of course this idea is based in the major assumption that being homosexual is just like being a Jew or being Black.

Now, I don't see gangs of heterosexual folks rushing out to lynch gays, nor do I see storm troopers tearing practicioners of sodomy out of their homes and shipping them off to ovens and gas chambers.

What I do see is a very vocal minority of immoral people trying to spread immorality through a society that is becoming more desperate every day to maintain some sense of moral decency.

The last time I read my Bible, I did not read anywhere that being Black was a sin. Neither did I read about being Jewish as a major crime against the laws of God. What is very prominent in scripture as "abominable" and "against nature" is being homosexual.

Now, where homosexuality may be equal to being black or being Jewish might be considered this way: 1) Homosexuals are both male and female; while black and Jews are also both male and female. 2) There are homosexual blacks. 3) There are homosexual Jews.

We must now consider these facts: 1) Not all Jews are homosexual. 2) Not all blacks are homosexual. 3) All homosexuals are homosexual.

Now consider these: 1) Jews are a race of people. 2) Blacks are a race of people. 3) Homosexuals are spread over all races of people and cannot be identified with any particular race. in fact there were probably homosexual whites involved in the lynchings and burnings of homosexual blacks during the 50s and 60s. (We will probably never know true numbers because gays stayed in closets during the 50s and 60s.)

The point here is that a person's method of sexual expression is a choice. Sometimes the choice may be based in love; many more times it is based in lust and sexual gratification. Again, that is all choice.

This is based in a firm belief in what is written in the Hebrew/Christian Bible about men and their choices. Romans Chapter One is an explanation of how homosexuality was part of a curse for choices men made and did not make.

Because men chose to ignore God and the rules of God, God gave them up to their choices and lusts. Men who craved sin were permitted to have their sin. Yes, God does allow men a free choice to believe or not believe; as long as men understand the consequences of making the wrong choices.

So God is a God of love, but we must also never ignore the fact that God is a God of wrath against sin. If men choose to sin, they choose to remain under the wrath of a holy God who must reject all forms of sin. That is called the "black and white" answer.

So are all Blacks sinners? Yes, but many Blacks know Jesus, and knowing Jesus, they know they are forgiven. Are all Jews sinners? Yes, but there are Jews that have received their Messiah Jesus and know they are secure for their eternity with God. Are all Homosexuals sinners? Yes, but they too can have hope if they reject sin and turn to God through Jesus. All men are sinners, but all men can be saved through Jesus.

Homosexuals may think they believe and follow the true God. They cannot and remain in their sin. The god they follow is a god that agrees with their immorality. I would not follow any god that accepts any form of immorality.

Yes, God is an old fashioned fuddy-duddy that rejects crime, sin, and pornography. No, God does not look at "Victoria Secret" or "Abercrombe and Fitch" catalogs and I don't believe he bothers with the "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit edition either. He is a real prude.

The Hebrew/Christian Bible tells us God is absolutely holy. He maintains that by rejecting every thought and word of sin. Homosexuals are not the same as Blacks or Jews as a race. they do not deserve to be thought of in terms of "civil rights".

So that leaves "human rights" which all homosexuals in America already have. All Americans share all the rights under American law. Homosexuals are absolutely free to marry as long as male gays marry females and lesbians marry males. Every other right or freedom or service can be granted through legal powers of attorney. Gays are not forbidden to live with each other and share households.

Gays are allowed to own cars, drive on public highways, and have joint bank accounts with anyone they want. They can also visit in hospitals during visiting hours like everyone else. They also have the right to petition to have laws changed if they want.

What gays do not have is the right to break laws and create pits of anarchy. Gay legislators have no right to break oaths of office that call for enforcing the laws of the land, and then doing whatever they want. I want to rob banks, but there is a law against that. Can I do it now that the prescedent for law breaking has been set by the States of New York, California and Massachusetts?

Gays are nothing more than misguided unbelievers that need direction and instruction in the ways of righteousness. If they come to know the True and Living God of Heaven (not some form of made up god) then perhaps they will really discover their need to repent and clean up their act.

If homosexuals choose to remain hellbound, then that is their choice. Knowledgeable Christians can pray and continue to speak out to remind the homosexual community there is still hope in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
