OH MY! He's Watching CNN!
Oct 24, 2003

I'm upset. CNN is the only extra-news option at the hotel I'm staying at in Hawaii. Yes, ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS are available, but I gave up on those, in fact, I gave up on CNN when I discovered FOX News Channel and Rush Limbaugh's web site. After watching a report on "CNNfn" concerning the Senate debate on the President's requested 87 billion dollars for military operations and reconstruction in Iraq, I am fully convinced that the Senate of the United States of America needs an enema.

These obstrucrats are not debating the 67 billion request for the support of the military. No. Everyone, (except Sen. Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy) agrees that our military should get all the support requested. What is being debated is the remaining 20 billion for the reconstruction effort. The debate is centered on the question of how the money should be labeled. Is the money to be a Loan or a Grant?

Even that is not the entire debate. Most of those opposed to granting the 20 billion want to make only half of that a repayable loan. So, the debate has settled into an argument over the tiny sum of 10 billion dollars. What are these people? Idiots!? I think that's mild enough. Yep, they're idiots.

Meanwhile, the military is not getting the support it needs and continuance of the debate threatens Homeland stability and security. Heck, even "O-stupid-Never-bin-Laden" had a comment about the American deficit and how he "thanks Allah" for our fiscal problems. It turns out, Usama, Osama or whatever, has correctly diagnosed the weak and spineless structure within the American political system. We just don't know how to fight wars anymore.

To top it off, the "CNNfn" reporters all had it wrong. They were spinning it into leftward's never ending paradise of liarhood. They were reporting that the entire 87 billion was being debated; that the entire 87 billion was to be a Grant or a Loan. There was no indication in any of the field reports that the debate centered on only 10 billion dollars.

Ten billion dollars? What is that anyway? Four hours of tax revenue taken from the treasury after being extracted from American pockets? Is it a small percentage of the money gathered in the lawsuit against "BIG Tobacco" or "Microsoft"? Is it the money this nation desperately needs to complete the construction of the Clinton Library or the next West Virginian structure to be named after a certain former member of the K.K.K.?

Hey Senate! How about calling in some of the real debt owed this country by Russia, China, Germany, France, or any of the other U.N. pals we've been throwing hundreds of billions of dollars of "loaned" support to over the years? Oh, wait, that's right. Israel is the only country required to adhere to its repayment schedule. All others skate free.

This country "porks" away 10 billion dollars every day. The Senate is afraid to give up "pork" for one lousy day to pass something the President needs. It is all politics. President Bush is never going to get one thing out of this namby- pamby bunch of political wimps without his requests being turned into political footballs. And, that is bad because, it seems, the quarterback for the Republicans is Donovan McNabb! ARGH! LOOK OUT! It is now up to the defense to win it!

Hey Senate! Cut the crap! Pass the bill! Give the money! It will make you feel good, right and charitable that you have given hope to 24 million people; that you have given them the funds they need to clean up the mass graves still being found throughout the countryside and the funds to secure all those ammunition storage sites to keep the explosives out of the hands of Usama's, Osama's, or whatever's minions of crud and destruction.

Did I mention I was in Hawaii?
