July 29, 2003 Sometimes I wonder if we could get into a bigger hole, the United States, and we always seem to find the right shovel which can somehow dig just a bit deeper into the center of the Earth. The shovel often switches hands, from Republicans to Democrats, and many many years ago (at least it seems) Mr then-President Bill Clinton was building us a mountain. Somehow over the past three years, that mountain has dissappeared and all we are left with is a growing hole. And the only one I see with a shovel is Mr now-President Bush. Record setting budget deficit projections were wrong!!! They were wrong, if just that was a good thing. The truth is the deficit will be 50 PERCENT WORSE, digging us into the biggest deficit ever, of not $300 billion, but $455 BILLION. Working middle class families are hurting because of this. Lower class families and hard workers and parents and children are hurting because of this. The only ones still sittin high are the millionaires, except the ones who are in jail. Unemployment is at a nine year high of 6.4 percent, which means about 9 and a half MILLION people are without jobs, an increase of around 3.4 million since Bush has taken office. This is depressing and saddening, but true!
People often disagree with my view of Mr Bill Clinton
as a
good president, but the only reason they can think of
is the
scandal and his impeachment. I ask for something
else,
but there is nothing they can think so, mainly because
you'd have to search hard to find something else. We
had a
surplus when Clinton was president, we had low
unemployment, a great environment, more National
Parks,
and everything did seem dandy. But all that has
changed. I
think Bush is a nice fellow and kind person, but he is
NOT
doing what is right for us and definitely not thinking
of us
when he makes his decisions. How could we have the
sense to re-elect him in 2004. I hope we DON'T have
the
sense, because then we wouldn't have ANY sense.
