Mar 5, 2003 People often refer to Tea, being the “Ideal” literary drink for writers; its what’s supposedly gets the brain working, their artistic mindset in the right position as well as their creative writer juices flowing. Some individuals would argue though, and say that not only Tea but also Coffee should both be referred to, as the perfect literary drinks, and not just one or the other. It is both, Tea and Coffee, that we drink on a daily basis when we start our morning, or when we end our nights. For some writers like me, Coffee and Tea both have become the ideal best friend on a cold night as well as many late nights when the mind is blank and one searches for something to feed their brain to have some spark of a unique and fun idea. It is then, when we writers turn to our beloved Coffee or Teapot and make ourselves a few cups to keep us company as we try to put our thoughts and our heart into our writing. We often times stop and think, “Hmmm, I’ve got writers block” “What shall I do”. Well, all I can say is “Turn to your Coffee or Tea”. Both Coffee and Tea, can and will soothe and comfort you, as it will free you from your writer’s block, and your ideas will slowly come rolling along. Each time where you take a small sip from your Coffee or Tea, you will feel a calm sense of self as tea or coffee with each slow sip entice you, to sound of a delightful “Hmm” as your ideas slowly start to trickle in and you slowly sort out your thoughts and feelings to put down in writing. It might take a while to write up a piece such as this, but coffee and tea are bound to lead your way and guide you to your best creative and most expressive ideas. Another thing Coffee and Tea can do is be a source of energizer to give you that extra boost and special touch in your article or story. How are Coffee and Tea different though? Both of course have their varied amounts of caffeine, and both seem to taste quite different as they come in several unique flavors and blends, but then there is still nothing else quite like it. Coffee and Tea have been around for ages, but they still live up to their promise of always being there for us and giving us that extra burst of energy, or that peaceful feeling of relaxation on a hard days work. Some would say Coffee is better then Tea and some say Tea is better then Coffee but for writers, both have their profound equal boost of genuineness. For instance, do you like freshly brewed Coffee and Tea or the instant like Nescafe or Lipton? For me, I can deal with a quick fix of each, but several cups would have to do to bring out all of my thoughts and all of what is bottled up, ready to surface in my writing. My most favorite tea for late night writing happens to be Peppermint Tea, I’ve grown quite accustomed to it since I was born and raised in Germany, and a lot of German’s seem to drink it next to Chamomile Tea. My mother used to bring Peppermint Tea to me when I was younger, every time when I got sick, so I would say, for me, Peppermint Tea,usually has always worked quite well, better then the normal cough syrup, or my mother’s homemade porridge. Unlike other teas out there on the market, Peppermint seems to have a genuine taste and it seems to always make me feel better and lift my spirits. It’s quite unique in itself and it has a wonderful flavor. Something other then Peppermint, that I would recommend is Jasmine Tea. The smell is wonderful, many people turn to Green Tea, but I think Peppermint and Jasmine work quite well by themselves. I would say that both Coffee and Tea are the best and ideal drinks for writers. What about you? What is your opinion of the “Ideal Literary Drink”, is it Coffee or Tea?
