June 5, 2003 Many people believe that people who tend to fall in love online and meet their other half this way, would be considered as “Desperate”, since it’s a form of personal add in a way but you just happen to type your feelings and thoughts on a Computer screen instead of writing them on paper or posting them through a personal add in a paper or in a voice mail message box. Most people tend to meet their significant other through friends or family functions, and special events or perhaps even at school. But how many people actually do or have met their significant other online? These days everything seems to be possible as everyone has their own idea of how and where to find their perfect mate, not counting the fact that we live in a very hectic world these days and many live their life online in a chat room, or just on a cell phone in between work breaks. Some being shy, or un-happy with their natural and physical appearance, just feel more comfortable talking and typing out their feelings on a computer in the hopes of connecting with someone sincere on the other side as this is considered “Chatting”. Most of the time these situations start of like this: An individual literally walks into a chat room and types up something simple as “Hi Everyone” and then minutes later someone in that Chat room seems to respond with something clever and original like “Hi or Howdy Doo”. Real original don’t you think? But that’s basically how most conversations start as you move up and get to know each other better during a conversation asking things like where you’re from what brings you here and other things. In a Chat room these basics are considered as “A/S/L (Age, Sex, Location). Originally the Internet seems a pretty broad place, but it still does wonders when connecting people together to one magical time zone at once from all around the world as there are always people in chat rooms at all times of day, due to different time zones around the world so people always manage to come and go as they please with no problem at all. Hanging around in chat rooms and striking up conversations is as easy as eating a piece of cake. People often come and go in chat rooms as you will always find someone there to chat but one of the interesting things about the Internet and the Chat world is that its open 24 hours a day, much like a drive through window at your favorite fast food restaurant. And some friendships that are made, through out the years of chatting, are bound to last forever, because we seem to be more willing to share our most inner thoughts and feelings with someone we don’t know instead of sharing our feelings and thoughts with someone we know on a face to face basis. Strange isn’t it? Sometimes, after forming friendships online, through chat rooms and becoming chat friends, some people manage to actually fall in love online. Is such a thing possible you ask? After all you are talking by typing up your feelings and thoughts through a Computer screen? These days everything is possible! Trust me, the Internet can be a pretty absorbing place, where its like a vacuum machine, it sucks up your feelings like a huge sponge, and just causes your emotions to be like strapped on a wild roller coaster ride. It can get pretty intense. With time people start liking who ever it is they talk to and slowly develop a crush like feeling and then the crush like feeling turns to love. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve been there and know what I am talking about. But things keep on getting better and easier in the Chat and “Cyberworld” as it is called. And now that Web Cams have been invented and Voice Chat programs have been put to use, everything seems to be even better in the chat world, because Web Cams enable you to see who ever it is you speak with, and they also enable you to hear through your Speakers who ever it is you speak with and the person on the other end of the computer can talk back to you and respond to you as you can hear their actual voice and if you have your own webcam and microphone, then they can see you and hear you as well. It’s pretty neat! So, what do you think? Is falling in-love online possible? I’d say it is, everything is possible these days!
