How to use Summer Vacation Wisely
May 28, 2003

Many people think that Summer Vacation is a time to relax and recover from a stressful time at Work or school. Yet many also use their Summer Vacation wisely.

Things u can use your Summer Vacation For:

Travel
Relaxation (Tanning in the backyard)
Catching up on things (Paper work) that needs to get done
Catching up on well deserved missed Sleep
Spending time with family and friends

If you’ve worked for months and months on end it is time to finally plow through your closet and get those big suit cases out because you’re going on a Trip for Summer Vacation. Many people have started a small vacation beginning this past Memorial Day weekend. Many use this time to plan their annual family road trip, or perhaps travel to see family and friends they haven’t seen since Christmas. All in all summer is just the perfect time to travel; not counting having to fight off the lewd of traffic that will come your way.

After Memorial Day, many more vacations are yet to come since June and July are just around the corner. With June and July ahead of us, also comes “BIKINI / SWIM SUIT Season” as it is time to finally test the waters in terms of being able to show off a fabulous body in that one piece or two piece swim suit you’ve worked hard to try to get into for the last several months. What do you think? Are you fitting into your Swimsuit with success?

Another thing people use their Summer Vacation for is “Relaxation”. Some who tend to avoid the busy traffic and the hectic travel just set some quality time aside for themselves and family in the back yard, relaxing in the hammock, making a family BBQ, or just lying in the sun getting a nice tan in the back yard and sipping on a nice cool glass of cold Lemonade. Sounds easy enough, right?

And then of course there are the “Work a holics” among us, they work hard through out the whole year, so why should Summer Vacation for them be any less different from the rest of the time? Workaholics like me usually use this Summer Vacation time by splitting it between family, friends, relaxation and other things , but most of all, we use this time to catch up on important paper work that needs to get done! There is only soo much you can do through out a semester being a full time college student, and there are soo many paper work items and things that need to be taken care of. Some things need more time to get done then others so those things are usually put off to be worked on during Summer Vacation!

Items like “Financial Aid” requests, take an enormous amount of time to be dealt with just because no one really wants to pay you to go to school they want you to pay it out of your own pocket, and with having paid it some of my education out of my own pocket before, people tend to give you the evil eye thinking, why are you all of a sudden looking for financial aid, you’ve never really needed it before ? So yeah that is one of the big problems that are usually put off, to deal with in the summer time.

On a lighter note, Summer Vacations can be spend on catching up on lots and lots of very well deserved sleep. Everyone knows the frenzies with stressful work weeks and how everyone is just wishing for some quality time off from the hectics of every day life. That can be done in a jiffy by taking lots of naps in the hammock in a cool shaded area of the backyard or just on the couch in front of the television, or even perhaps in the comfort of your own comfortable bed. Where ever the place may be, everyone has their own special place to relax and catch some Zzzz’s.

And last but not least, Summer Vacation is often a time set aside for family and friends. Many people always say, oh family is family, they’re never going anywhere, so nothing is really missed out on, one can always travel and see them next year and if not next year then the year after that or when ever. But, that’s work-a-holics talking, Summer time is family time, and so many decide, if not to put family first during most of the year, they try to make an effort and put family first during summer time, for vacations, visiting the older people in the family, or just simply making it an effort to have summer be a time for family and for making more special family traditions and memories.

Fact is, no matter how you decide to spend your summer vacation, it should be used wisely.
