Nov 20, 2003 …ELECTION? Envision a haunted courthouse, peopled by grim figures in long, dark robes. Within their dread chambers they thumbscrew the Constitution to pursue their fell agenda. Tormenting logic, putting long-held values and ideals to death, they give unnatural life to law without benefit of a legislature. Their Frankensteinian creations walk among us with names like Abortion On Demand and Gay Marriage. While peaceful villagers sleep, they ponder what further havoc they might wreak on society. Can Christianity be wiped out, they ask themselves? Is it time to bolt the head on Polygamy and bring it to life as well? With a laundry list of hedonistic and humanistic subjects there is no end to the monsters they might bring forth. The progressive, liberal justices that hold sway over the Supreme Court and other courts in this country as well threaten our very life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Liberals have discovered a cunning way to bring about their vision of America by packing the courts with left-leaning judges and encouraging them to bypass the legislative and executive branches of government by enacting their own laws in the name of “Interpretation of the Constitution.” The liberal mindset is reflective of a group of people who feel they know better than the majority what is good for us all. They deny the wisdom of relying on the long respected values of the Bible and demand that the Ten Commandments are swept from their sight. They have put a slick patina on “if it feels good, do it” and appeal to our fears as they aspire to appease the wicked bullies of this planet. I acknowledge the sincerity of the Jimmy Carter segment of this rabble. I abhor the soft-money godfathers and mealy-mouthed legislators who surround his kind on all sides. It is a mockery to the courage and convictions of our founding fathers that men who those pioneers would have lambasted as blackguards are among the leading lights of the Donkey Party. Not that I feel strongly about this issue. No more than if I were drowning and desperately struggling for air. It is not simply that I now live in the United States, and love my country. It is also the idea that my children and grandchildren will be here when I am gone. We need a Winston Churchill rather than a Neville Chamberlain, for it is a time of war! George Bush needs to be reelected. THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION OF YOUR LIFE Keeping President Bush in office is critical to our security and overall well-being. But more, much more than that, is a need for liberal Democrats to be swept from office around the country in the House and especially in the Senate. For how can President Bush seek to correct the liberal imbalance in the court system if the Senate has just enough liberal legislators to filibuster his candidates? It is obvious from the events of the past six months that no matter what gender or skin color the candidate and no matter how wonderful their credentials, the Dems will block the nomination of anyone who is not one of their own. Make no mistake about it, the Democratic Party does not care about the will of the people and their idea of what is good for America moves farther and farther from mainstream values every day. Vote! Vote to correct the injustices and replace the unjust Justices with men and women who will interpret the Constitution logically, conservatively and fairly. Vote to return the balance to our system of checks and balances. Vote Republicans into office this coming November! ------------ About the author: Kimbal Ross Binder is a husband of one wife and parent of six child units of various sizes.
