Apr 20, 2004 John Kerry has a new approach. “They can’t question my patriotism” however he has no problem questioning their patriotism. The Kerry campaign got off the ground suggesting President Bush was a draft dodger. All the while Kerry standing in the background saying “I didn’t say that”. It’s time Senator Kerry released his Military records. Let him explain three Purple Hearts and not even one prescription for a band-aid. The measure of a man shouldn’t be how many bullets he’s dodged in combat. There are services people can perform for their country that doesn’t include wearing a uniform. Not every patriotic act involves military service. Most of our founding fathers didn’t serve on the line but they are no less heroes for the service they performed for the birth of this nation. Senator Kerry is blowing a lot of smoke when he says he will go to the UN for additional troops from other countries to engage in the conflict in Iraq. The UN has no authority to send any troops anywhere, the UN has no troops. It is up to each nation to commit their Armies for any deployments. Most have declined. If the world will not support America under the leadership of President Bush what can Senator Kerry offer them to make them change their minds? John it isn’t President Bush Europe doesn’t like, it’s America. Perhaps it’s a liberal thing but it seems Senator Kerry is basing his whole campaign on polls. Vice President Gore and President Clinton did the same thing. The problem with that is the polls change daily requiring political positions to change daily to keep abreast. I doesn’t give the public an opportunity to fully understand Senator Kerry’s position before he’s changed to a new one. After being first for the war then against the war and changing that several times he’s back to “Let’s cut off their heads and boil them in Oil” approach. Around and around he goes and where he stops no one knows. Is it just me, or have the rest of you noticed a slight change in the media coverage of this campaign? Kerry is increasingly being questioned on some of his more outrageous position changes. In fact the media is making an effort to balance their reporting. Could this have something to do with the popularity of Fox News and other fair and balanced providers of truth? I grant you there’s still far too much Bush-bashing going on but that too will change as polls indicate the Presidents popularity increasing. Don Imus who is about as politically savvy as boiled broccoli made the statement on his radio show this morning, John Kerry wasn’t someone he would feel comfortable turning the keys over to, I couldn’t agree more. I can think of only one person less qualified than John Kerry to be President and that’s Al Gore. I’m still convinced Bill Clinton chose Al Gore for Vice President for insurance. He was a better Life Insurance policy than the Presidents entire Secret Service detail.
