Nov 6, 2003 Writing started as a Lark, it has become somthing I am beginning to enjoy. I still make mistakes but I believe they are becoming fewer with each submission. I've been told by some responding to my articles I can't spell for crap. Hell I know that. I have also been told I am not constructing sentences appropriately, My grammer is un- satisfactory,My opinions suck. So what's the point ? As I see it the message is more important than the messanger. Or for the sake of a better explanation, editorial correctnes. Columnists contributing to USELESS-KNOWLEDGE.COM don't do it for journalistic acclaim, money or the hope of discovery, we are all ameteures after all. We do it to illustrate a point, to express an opinion not being made by professional pundits. It also satisfies MY EGO. For years I have been vocal in my political views. I've written Congressman, I've sent letters to Editors, I've called Radio talk shows, I've sent e-mails to many of the Cable News shows, I've responded to Columnists who have written articles I take exception to. I have used about every avenue available to express views I felt where not being heard, Mine! USELESS- KNOWLEDEGE.COM affords us the space to fully express our views. We have a platform far beyond a sound-bite. Do I think reading USELESS-KNOWLEDEGE.COM will change my politics, probably not. Do I think I will change any minds, probably not. Will I influence anyone, I may in some small way. Will any of the articles I read influence me, they have in a small way. Ideas are like vegetation when cultivated and nurtured they grow and become productive. Knowledge is a similar exorcize, It expands our awareness. It's evolutionary. We live in a world in-cased in negativity. This is proven by the rhetoric of the new politics of the nine Presidential candidates we see on television every evening. It has been said good news is boring news. For those willing to stand and brave the barbs of lessor persons, to express views not in the main stream I salute you. May I suggest to those who write and read the articles published here. Acknowlege as many as possible by resopnding with a short e-mail to the authors. Let your fellow columnists know they are being read. We are provided with two ways to respond. By E-MAIL and in the FORUM. Recognition is the most compelling reward anyone can receive for their work.
