Mar 28, 2004 I get a lot of mail from President Bush, I probably get an e-mail a day and at least one letter a week. Sometimes he asks for advice. Mostly he just asks for money. I haven’t figured out why he keeps asking for money. I thought his family was super rich? I guess you can only sponge off the family for so long then it’s time to go out and make it on your own. George and I have developed quite a relationship. I’m a little worried about his lack of ability to concentrate on more then one subject. I keep making suggestions and asking questions and he keeps ignoring the question and asking for money. Well finely today I got some answers. President Bush in his letter says he knows John Kerry will be his opponent in the coming campaign and quite frankly he’s looking forward to the challenge. “BRING IT ON SUCKER”, He didn’t come right out and say it but it’s in there between the lines. Presidents think these things, they don’t say them. The President pointed out several things Kerry was for, then against, then for again, then against. It’s kind of like the kid trying to decide what to tell the teacher, was it his cat or dog that eat the homework. I’ve been willing to listen to Kerry; I’m interested in his position on the issues. In Kerry’s case today’s opinion doesn’t always represent tomorrows vote or the turn around version. I’m finding it very difficult to form an opinion on Kerry’s opinions. They change so often. Kerry has anounanced he is cutting taxes on Corporations and raising taxes on those who manage Corperations. Kerry says the Business will invest the money and create jobs. [Kerry didn’t say where they would invest] Kerry doesn’t understand that’s what Rich People do with their money. They invest and create jobs. Small independent business create 80 % of domestic jobs, the owners are taxed as personal income on the profits. The President didn’t say this but there’s never been a tax credit that didn’t have a large enough loophole for a dozen Lobbyists and six Congressmen to jump through. The President sort of circled around this one so I’ll come right out and ask Kerry. How will increasing taxes on the rich benefit the poor or jobs? In order to have jobs there has to be work, goods manufactured, services preformed, products purchased. It’s called commerce. If America chooses to buy goods made from outsourced labor in China etc. etc. How will that improve the job market in America? We’ll get back to that one. Unless the voters are dumber than a box of rocks they’ll see through the Kerry proposals. [The President didn’t say that either]. One of Kerry’s hatchet men, Richard Clark who is supposedly not a member of Kerry’s team is swearing under oath he is only trying to give America a heads up on the war on terror. Mr. Clark that’s why we paid you and Kerry for twenty years to give us a heads up. By the way now that it looks as though Clark may be discredited Kerry’s calling for his head. I’m covering some thing the President didn’t in his letter. I can tell you this, if he follows thorough on some of the points he made to me in his letter. This will be one hell of a campaign. Kerry’s campaign song isn’t going to be “ I Did It My Way” or maybe it will. In the final paragraph the President made the following statement [paraphrased] The last three years of America’s history will always stand apart. There are quiet times in the nation when little is expected of its leaders. There are tentative times when much is expected of the leaders. These are such times when strong decisive leadership is required. The war on terror is a very real war and requires a strong leader when definitive actions need to be taken. I have no doubt President Bush will prevail in the fall election, all he has to over come is eight months of a continual barrage of disinformation from an Elite National Media. And enough money being spent by the Democrats to pay off the national debt. ------------ About the Author: Ken Hughes is a retired businessman.
