Mar 17, 2004 Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about words Liberals never use, IN-SOURCING comes to mind. Many foreign companies employee people in this country in jobs moved from their countries. Honda, Sony, B P Oil Co. Shell Oil Co. Mercedes Benz, There’s a long list of Companies who manufacture or provide services here who aren’t from here. I had the list once, I must of misplaced it. Another word that bothers me a lot is WMD’s. Can anyone describe for me what a weapon of mass destruction looks like? How will I recognize it, by its shape, size, smell, or color? This has bothered me since the United States Capital was shut down while authorities went searching for the source of a letter ( WMD ) mailed to Senator Daschle. If the entire Investigative force of the United States Government can’t find WMD’s in a small area like Washington D.C. how do they expect find them in a country the size of Iraq? But first shouldn’t we be told what they look like, I don’t want to get on a train and sit on one. SURPLUS, The United States Government while controlled by the Democrats operated at a deficit for over 40 years ( Spends more than they took in). The Republicans took control of the House of Representatives. Their first order of business was to enact “The Contract with America” Overnight a new political buzz-word was born SURPLUS. ( Takes in more than they spend). The problem is it was only an estimated surplus. It’s hard for Liberals to be believable when they say “Bush squandered our estimates on tax cuts for the Rich”. President Bush gets elected and immediately we’re back to deficits. I must have blinked, I didn’t see it go by. SERVED HONORABLY is hard for me to swallow. Kerry served four months in Viet Nam less than half a tour of duty. I question his metals as well. It’s as though some corpsman told Kerry to take two Purple Hearts and see him in the morning. Kerry has no record of a hospital visit while in Viet Nam. Kerry is no Audy Murphy. I will go on record as saying I think John Kerry is a FRAUD and a COWARD, his actions after returning from Viet Nam are not those of a man who could win decorations in battle. My official news network is FOX, I occasionally watch NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN. I’m always amused at how they parse words such as what the meaning of is is. When reporting anti Bush they use one set of words when forced to report pro Bush they use a completely different set of words. What I enjoy about Fox they usually toss in a Liberal Nut to add color. If they’re that confident they must be telling the truth. Of all the words in the English language the one that offends me most is LIBERAL, not to be confused with Democrat. There’re a lot of admirable Democrats however they no longer have a voice. Liberalism began in America in 1933 with the swearing in of FDR. Then President Hoover was blamed for the depression of the 1930’s. The real fault was protectionist legislation passed by Congress and Corporate Greed The liberal agenda of FDR served a positive purpose, it wrestled Industry and the Government from the clutched of Greedy Corporate Giants. Corporations were now free to function as intended, to serve the needs of the public, provide employment and earn profits for the stockholders. CENTRIST DEMOCRAT, a misnomer if they’re ever was one. George McGovern ran as a New Democrat ( left of centrist ) in the 1972 election in opposition to Richard Nixon and the Viet Nam war. Un-known to Senator McGovern a group of radical Kennedy, Kerry Democrats knowing McGovern would lose were busy reforming the Democratic party to what we see today. The party of divide and conquer. The New-New Democrats ( socialist ) ran at the expense and detriment of our Soldiers serving in a combat zone. This election is a replay of 72, hopefully with the same results. When John Kerry cut and run from Viet Nam walking on the waters of Pacific Ocean to Boston he forfeited his birthright of becoming President of the United States. Nineteen years in Congress hasn’t improved his chances. I know a lot more offensive words but that enough for one day. ------------ About the Author: Ken Hughes is a retired businessman.
