Mar 13, 2004 It takes a lot of confidence and an equal amount of courage to write a letter to yourself about yourself then allow the world to share it. It was a pleasure reading your article ONE HUNDRED, Articles on Useless Knowledge. I congratulate you and I’ll be looking forward to the next ONE HUNDRED. I try to read ever article posted on Useless Knowledge. If I expect my articles to be read I can do no less for others. I must say I am impressed with the quality of all the writing. I have my favorite writers of course, Michael John McCrae is at the top of my list. There is a little of the man Mr. McCrae in each of his articles. His trip down memory lane made me think of my own youth. If I wrote a letter to me about me what would it be like? I wondered if I would like myself as much as Mr. McCrae liked himself in his youth. I wondered if the nuances in my life would match those in Mr. McCrae’s life. I’ve traveled half of the world, I believe Mr. McCrae has traveled my half and half again. I’ve met many important people in my travels. None as important as the young Soldier serving in Kuwait who was pictured on the Honolulu Postcard as well the rest of our servicemen and servicewoman. They are also my Hero’s. Mr. McCrae’s bio at the end of each of his articles speaks volumes about the man. Here is a man who admits to committing every sin of Liberal Political Correctness. He’s a Christian, a Loving Father, a Loving Grandfather, a Loving Husband and God forbid a Veteran of 30 years service to his country. It’s ok he’s a poet if he doesn’t mention God. I think I’ll stick to writing about politics and not myself. I’m not sure I could match-up. ------------ About the Author: Ken Hughes is a retired businessman.
