Mar 8, 2004 Presidential Campaigns are like sporting events, they’re bloody messes. There’s a big build up, the combatants go to the mat to determine a Champion and a Championship. Millions of words will have been spoken, millions of hours will have been worked, millions of dollars will have been spent and for what? A job that lasts only four years, at best eight years. Perhaps it’s the perks Lord knows there are enough of them. Once the job is obtained a silver spoon is given to the winner, it stays with him or her for life. Most of those running for President already have silver spoons, Most are at least multi-millionaires some are even billionaires. I think it’s the power, there’s something to being the most powerful man on earth that invigorates some men. ( and Hillary) Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac. A President is two steps removed from GOD, only the United States Senate sits closer, ( even they question if they go first or God goes first ). GEORGE WALKER BUSH, grew up in the middle class community of Midland Texas. Some say he grew up privileged, for those who have never been to Midland I can assure you no one grows up privileged in Midland Texas. It’s a hard place, it’s dusty, hot, dry and flat. The dogs take numbers and stand in line to use the only tree in town. Midland is 250 miles from no-where in any direction The Bush family even though they came from wealthy Northern Yankee stock worked their way to the top in the oil fields of West Texas, that’s the only way it’s done. George Jr. may not have been as successful in the Oil Business as George Sr. but he certainly wasn’t a failure. You only have to understand the Texas Oil Business to know it’s feast one day and famine the next. Environmental mandates haven’t helped drilling any George Jr. was successful at running the Texas Ranger Ball Club. He was equally successful as a two term Governor of the Great State of Texas. He was also successful at putting a Silver foot up the six of Ann Richards and Molly Ivers, ( figuratively speaking of course ). George Bush liberated two of the most oppressed nations in the world. He’s held the terrorists accountable for their actions. Unlike former President Clinton when attach President Bush attach back. George Bush has put the world on notice “ Don’t Tread on Me”. I prefer a President who stands on the Quarter Deck and says “ I have not yet began to fight” than one who bombs an aspirin factory to avoid honoring a court appearance. President Bush may be a slow thinker and a plodder and maybe not, there is no question he’s a leader and a doer. For nearly four years the Democrats have tried to paint George Bush as a Hillbilly Cowboy overlooking his BA from Yale and an MBA from Harvard, He’s a former F-102 Pilot, I’m inclined to think his demeanor is a façade simply to throw his dissenters off track, I’m inclined to think it’s working. The Democrats question the Administrations effectiveness in Iraq. In the history of Iraq, In the history of the Middle East with the exception of Israel there’s never been a Democratic Government. Iraq prior to the end of the Second World War had always been occupied by a foreign powers. In less than one year The Bush Administrations leadership has created the first ever Iraqi Interim Constitution and Citizen lead Government. . As I recall our own history it took several years for our founding fathers to agree on a Constitution and form of Government. On the one hand the Liberal Democrats would lead us to believe one word from the United States and the world follows in lock-step, on the other hand we must fall in lock-step with the rest of the world lest we offend. Maybe that’s why what comes out of Washington is called the SPIN-CYCLE. I was very surprised reading Drudge Sunday the Washington Post has decided if they can work it out with their reporters and not stifle their creative juices they’ll report the news accurately and fairly henceforth. They will make every effort to identify their sources as apposed to attributing statements to “ THEY SAY ” an other is the reliable source. This could be a first in journalism. This could have a devastating effect on the Democrats. They may have to account for their outrageous claim’s, prove accusations. If the Washington Post follows through can the New York Times be far behind? Imagine if you will. The National Media reporting truth without bias. I’ll take the wait and see approach. I’ve been looking into same of John Kerry’s accomplishments. It isn’t easy researching a non-existent record. Clicking on to the Kerry sit-maps they always revert back to BUSH LIED ABOUT IRAQ AND WMD’s. There are hundreds of pages of data on President Bush both pro and con. I can only assume either Kerry is suppressing his record or he’s never done any thing worth keeping records of. I’ve probably said enough, I hear mice clicking. These are My opinions.
