Things We Know, Things We Suspect
Feb 22, 2004

We know short of a mud slide at Babb’s house in Marabou John Kerry has it wrapped up for the title of DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. As we speak it is rumored the Kerry camp has hired an interior decorator to re-do Air force One. They want to get rid of that terrible Texas smell. By the way Kerry has now joined some other prominent Democrats in their support of the War in Iraq, and the ink wasn’t even dry on his proclaiming it a total disaster. Kerry has down graded his AWOL remarks to “ Bush was out after lights out“. Kerry says he isn’t going to take the low road, is that the everyone’s low road or the Democratic low road?

We suspect Kerry may not be the first choice of the Biggies in the Democratic Party. Considering the lack of support he is getting from the top one wonders if perchance George Walker Bush isn’t the Clinton factions first choice for President in 2004. Think about it. Hillary would have a more difficult chance of beating President Bush than his successor who ever that may be. Four year is only a political season for Hillary. After all she’s waited all her life to become the first MADAM. PRESIDENT in our history. These people play for self-aggrandizement not for the countries welfare. This will give them two more elections to regain the house and the senate. This is where I see the efforts of the Democratic Party going in 2004 and 2006.

We know the Democrats can do a 180 degree turn at a moments notice and the main stream media will give them a pass. What ever positions the Democrats take today will not necessarily be the one they advocate tomorrow. Tom Daschle, Hillary Clinton and several other prominent Democrats are on board for the war now. Toppling Saddam was a necessary thing to do to paraphrase Tom Daschle’s interviews in his home town’s Newspaper this weekend. Kerry has even backed off his criticism of the war.

We suspect John Kerry will have some skeletons coming out of his closet before this election is over. One is his connection to the so called Special Interests. Kerry has gotten more contributions from Lobbyists than any Senator now serving. Of course that can be in questioned when one considered he sits next to Robert Byrd and Teddy Kennedy. At any rate he is a recipient of big-bucks from the Washington Special-Interest crowd. There is creditable data he has interjected his influence on more than one occasion for the special interests. Senator Kerry has an even bigger problem. He will be trying to make the case his experience in Viet Nam gives him more credibility as a War President than President Bush. That dog wont hunt, Bush has been their Kerry hasn’t. I doubt this time Kerry can have it both ways. President Bush stays and fights. Few Presidents have gone into a combat zone in times of war. RPG’s were going off all around President Bush when he visited the troops in Baghdad. Landing on an Aircraft Carrier is more than a stunt. Crying about an unjust war while your fellow comrades are dieing doesn’t take courage, I think it’s called being a coward. We may yet discover Lt. John Kerry’s Military record had some major adjustments made to it.

I suspect the Democrats will work harder on regaining the house and senate than trying to elect a President. One thing politicians know for cretin. Presidents only have so much power while Congress is all powerful. Congress can stop a President dead in his tracks. A President can’t budge Congress. There are very few things a President can do without the approval of Congress. Presidents have no veto power over a determined Congress. On the other hand Congress can veto any proposal the President makes. If you truly want to change Washington change the Congress. Elect enough willing soles to Congress to enact Term Limits. The Congressman we have now will never do it.

These are my opinions. You form yours.
