Jan 29, 2004 The Democrats angriest candidate becomes Americas most patriotic candidate. Dr. Howard Dean made one of the fastest re-inventions this campaign has seen. Somewhere between Iowa and New Hampshire Dr. Dean had an epiphany, a manifestation of visions not seen before. I think it called losing. What are the chances Dr. Dean knew all the words to the Star Spangled Banner instinctively? What are the chances of the sun setting in the east? Had that been Al Sharpten I may have bought into it but not Dean, he’s to scripted for anything so spontaneous. I have to think that took a few rehearsals to pull off. I haven’t written Dr. Dean off yet. I think he has a chance of becoming the Democratic candidate, Democrats have a history of picking losers. It will be interesting to see if Dr. Dean can maintain his composure for the rest of the campaign. I think not, He’s too much of a Pit-bull to keep his cool. Moving on to General Wesley Clark. This is a man clothed in cool. No offence but he reminds me of a Gay Vegetarian. I have a friend who is an accomplished Cross-Word puzzle solver. He is taking all the speeches Clark has made on all the issues he has take positions on and is putting his responses into a series of Cross-Word puzzles. This endeavor is becoming somewhat complicated, he’s having a problem finding correlating data, It isn’t easy sorting out all the contradictions. I still can’t understand how Clark can campaign on his military record and have the likes of Michael Moore, Madonna and other Hollywood types leading him around. That’s part of the reason my friend is having so much trouble with his Cross-Word puzzles, Clark wont stick to one position long enough to get a fix on what he’s thinking. I doubt Clark can make it far, he hasn’t the intellect to stand up to tough debating. John Kerry, now there’s a real piece of work. He reminds me of a Pony my Dad kept for us kids when we where very little ( Not because he has the face of a horse, he can’t help that). All we had to do to get that horse to follow us was to hold out a carrot. When he managed to get one kids carrot he would move on to the next. As long as we had carrots that horse would follow us anywhere, once we ran out of carrots the horse was on to better pickings. Kerry has spent most of his political career as a follower. I’m not sure he is up to a leadership role. May I make a Poker analogy, it’s like playing Texas Hold-em, at some point each player will go all in. In my opinion it will get down to Kerry and Dean. If I where to bet I would put my money on Kerry as the winner.( Actually the loser since I am convinced the Democrats will lose) Lieberman and Edwards, I doubt if either of these candidates will be in the race after South Carolina. They are both true Gentleman and deserved of the opportunity to strive for their shot as a candidate for President,. That’s not how it works. There toast. Brother Al, the Reverend Al Sharpten. He has to be the most interesting and entertaining of all the candidates. In many cases he makes the most sense. Brother Al has waded through all the propaganda and has made each of the candidates face the truth at one time or another. Brother Al knows he isn’t going to go home with the whole pie, he knows he’s going to get a very large portion. Al Sharpten is very familiar with coming from behind and never quite reaching the finish line first. When you live your entire life knowing you’re never going to be first you learn to turn second and third into victory. Al Sharpten is a Poker Player, he’ll be the one hold out from going all in. I disagree with Revered Al’s positions on nearly all of the issues. I understand why he feels the way he feels. Al Sharpten knows he makes a terrible candidate, he knows he make the others much better candidates. For all the advances we have made in integration we are several generations away from total equality. It’s men like Al Sharpten who keep it on track. We owe him a debt, but not the Presidency. Short of total disaster President Bush will be re-elected for a second term. Sixty-five percent of the country agrees. Hopefully in the next five years the President and a new Congress can shape the country into a position it will take years for the liberals to undo the reforms should they ever regain power.
