That Stubborn European Seems To Be Right After All
Apr 18, 2004

A lot of things have happened since my last column on this site. I got a lot of reactions of two, in my eyes, die hard Republicans who tried to convince me I was wrong in criticising George Bush´s Iraq policy and his overall policy in general. One month later, I seem to have been right in the end. Not that I´m proud of it, by the way.

It began with Colin Powel, admitting he had been wrong with what he saw as strong evidence he had used to try in convincing the UN of Iraq´s danger. He now says his evidence was not an evidence in the end. No, of course not. Everyone with just a little common sense and the ability to think things over clearly knew already then his conviction and evidence was based on quick- sand.

What to think about the declaration of FBI´s leading man Tennet who said George Bush was not alarmed by the threats of possible Al´Qaida attacks just one month before September 11th? Combined with Richard Clarke´s allegation Bush was only occupied with Saddam Hussein, it gives one to think.

Meanwhile, the mess in Iraq is becoming bigger with the week. Bush still claims he is going to give power back to the Iraqi´s on June 30th. Which Iraq citizens, mister president? The many opposing factions will use that date to create even more chaos and violence in order to de- stabilise the country. Watch my words. To make the Middle East disaster complete, the Israelis are blowing up every small chance on peace with the big support of George Bush only. Even Tony Blair, Bush´s biggest ´fan´, doesn´t agree with Sharon´s policy.

God, what a mess this world has become and what is George Bush doing against it? Nothing. Yes, he´s making things worse. I may get many reactions on this column again. I won´t answer them, I tell all my criticasters in advance. Not that I´m not willing to go into discussion, but simple because I have a lack of time to do so. And after all, I only see one possible beginning of a solution: a new president of the USA in November. Let it be John Kerry, I don´t care when it would even be another Republican with more common sense. Who cares. The world is going to be better off without George Bush.

I still hope to visit your great country one day, when I´m allowed after all my criticism :-)
