Mar 24, 2004 I was thinking today that it would make so much sense if everyone kept a journal. It seems that if people could easily look back on their thoughts and feelings that it would be beneficial in a variety of different ways. If one could immediately look back and read about an encounter they had with a friend that was readily available, then they would have a tool to relive the magic that the two shared on that given day. I kept a journal about four or five years ago for about four months, and it was fantastic. I was very loyal to it and seriously sat down and wrote thoughtful prose day in and day out. I still delight in going back to look into it, in an attempt to dissect what things were important to me then. It is truly humorous to see what types of things occupied my mind during that period of time that I was recording. I think that it would be even more interesting if I had kept a journal throughout my entire high school and college career. I am sure I would have recorded some things that were truly unique and it would also be very cool indeed to have a tool to help me remember some of those memories that have started to elude me. It seems that being able to relive some of those feelings would be great for a sense of nostalgia. Personally, events from my past and things that I have encountered in my life are an extreme point of interest for me. Events that happen in our lives are like tiny chapters that are written daily in the novel of our lives. That being said, I think it would be an interesting project for me to share pieces of my life every couple of days. It will be exciting for me because it will be like keeping a journal and I will be able to record some of the things I do on to paper. I think it will be entertaining to the reader because I believe everyone has a little bit of voyeur in them. It will give the reader an opportunity to glance into my life on a semi regular basis and see what I go through. It will kind of be like reality T.V. on paper. I won’t be able to include all the sensational elements of my life, though I plan on making it interesting and worth the read. I cannot truthfully tell you what the format will be as I am not truly sure myself, but I can at least guarantee that it will fluctuate. I am sure it will range from random thoughts of mine, to maybe some noteworthy conversations that I had on a given day. This will be a project in the making, so bare with me as I strive to work out the kinks, and please be patient as well. Also, please feel free to e-mail me any comments or suggestions you have for the entries, I would love to hear your feedback. Be sure to keep in mind that I will be writing these entries not only for me, but you as well. Until then, I bid you all adieu. ------------ About the author: Jason Trace is a graduate of Michigan State University.
