Gene LaBargeSept 26, 2002 Tom Daschle hit a new low today. He accused President Bush of playing politics with the War on Terror. What a hypocrite. Daschle and his gang of liberal liars have tried repeatedly to stall the war until after the elections. Can you be any more political than that? They are afraid to show just how much they are against the war because they know it will cost them in November. They put our country in danger by “playing politics”. Like Al Gore, Daschle flip-flops so often that it appears he has no convictions whatsoever. Back in 1998 Daschle co-sponsored a war resolution urging Bill Clinton to take all necessary actions to respond to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs. Now he needs more time to think about it. How can he possibly need more time, given all that has happened in the past year? These liberal obstructionists would rather shift the focus to the economy during a time of war. They try to pin the blame on President Bush even though he inherited a crumbling economy from Clinton/Gore. Of course, the attack on America was a major economic blow as well. There is no limit to how far they will go to further their own political aspirations. They look for weakness in our country and they move in like vultures. All this at a time they should be showing the world America is strong and united. This gives hope to our enemies. How can you help but call these people anti-American? Doesn’t America have a history of fighting against evildoers? Of fighting for and defending freedom? Election or no election, people know that the Republicans are for strong defense. They have a record of fighting back. Ronald Reagan took care of terrorist Moammar Khaddafy and won the Cold War. Former President Bush freed Kuwait from the invasion of Iraq. The current Bush administration campaigned on having a strong defense. The liberals don’t even seem to want to protect our military secrets, much less fight for our freedom. Dragging his feet on the War on Terror is just one of many ways Daschle has tried to impede our President. There is Daschle’s blockade against President Bush’s judicial nominees. The need for these nominees became clear after a rogue federal appeals court declared the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional. Daschle, ever the hypocrite claims to support the Christian traditions in our country. However, a year ago he fought to remove the phrase “so help me God” from the Senate oath. Why the change? Obviously the outrage from so many American’s caused another flip-flop by the spineless senator. Daschle, Gore and some other Godless liberals have revealed through their words, actions and in- action that they do not support the War on Terror. Political desperation has brought it to the surface. Hopefully the American people will not forget. ------------ Gene LaBarge is an aspiring political commentator and publisher of several websites including abfnews.com.
