Saddam is Finished
Sept 5, 2002

It’s been about 23 years since Saddam Hussein took over as dictator of Iraq. It is unlikely he will see another year, despite all the rhetoric supporting him. His time has come.

President Bush will do what must be done. The proof is there against this evil regime. No doubt there is much more we do not know about. The President knows. We will learn more in the next couple of weeks. It is time to support him in the War on Terror.

The liberal democrats continue to try to undermine this war. They drag their feet at every turn. They continue to stonewall the Homeland Security Bill. They say their disagreements are insignificant. Then why not show unity and accept it without all the political posturing? It is a shame, all the attacks that have been levied against the President since the attack on America. Remember, “what did he know and when did he know it?” They have used the economy he inherited from Bill Clinton for relentless cheap shots. They use the stock market as the only gauge for how the economy is doing. They ignore all positive indicators. So much for coming together for the good of America. Should we expect any less than to slow down this phase in the War on Terror?

They say it will cause instability in the Middle East. Are you kidding? It is stable now? They say they need proof that Saddam is a threat. He has used gas on his own people. His answer to the Gulf War was to attack Israel. He continues to build up weapons of mass destruction. This man has been brutal since the beginning. When he took power, he destroyed all other political parties and imprisoned those who disagreed with him. If we let this evil regime get a pass, then the War on Terror will be lost.

We should not take too much stock in the rhetoric supporting Saddam that is coming from over seas. Iran says it will not stand by if we attack. Why? They hate Iraq and would like nothing more than too see them go down. So why? Because they too are guilty and know they are on the short list of terrorist states that will be dealt with in the future. Much of the other support from leaders around the world is from nations who have sponsored terrorism.

Some of the people who stand in the way of the War on Terror are simply ignorant. The Europeans think that the most significant event in history is the death of Princess Diana. Unbelievable! Do we really need to worry so much about what the world thinks of us? They have forgotten Adolf Hitler. Surely they will forgive us for defeating such evil.

The case has already been made against Saddam Hussein. We cannot negotiate with him. Sanctions have not worked. Inspections were a joke. He has had more than enough chances.

It would be nice to have complete support for the War on Terror. From other nations as well as from the democrat leadership at home. That is obviously not the case. We can see what might have happened if Al Gore would have been president. A lot of cheap talk and little action. Thank God we have George W. Bush and his strong team running the country. Goodbye Saddam.
