Gene LaBargeAug 22, 2002 We hear liberals all the time proclaiming choice when it comes to having abortions. Where is the man’s choice? Men have no choice. A woman can kill an unborn baby even if the father is willing to raise the child. If a man does not want the child he is forced to pay for support of the child. This is an incredible contradiction in the law. Could it be any less fair? Freedom of choice is not freedom of choice as long as one of the two partners responsible can make the choice without the other. This is the partnership of a man and a woman. Not a woman and a woman. Not a man and a man. You are not supposed to speak out against abortion or homosexuality but at every turn men are discriminated against. It is always the man’s “fault” when a woman gets pregnant. He is supposed to pay for the consequences of his actions. If it is truly simply a matter of being a woman’s body then shouldn’t the woman be the sole person responsible for birth control and the consequences of getting pregnant? In the name of deadbeat fathers, good fathers are constantly under attack. New laws are always being drawn up that hurt fathers who are trying to do right more than those who refuse to do right. All too often a child is used as a tool to hurt the father. A woman can make a small fortune just from the support from a well to do father. The woman does not have to account for what she does with all the money. In many other cases the man isn’t even notified he has a child. Hypocrisy everywhere you turn. Men have a tough battle ahead to get their rights back. The importance of fathers in the lives of children and society has been ignored. The grief experienced by post abortion men has been ignored. Eight years of Bill Clinton anti-family policies have taken a toll. Liberal judges can make determinations based on what they think the man “should” be earning. Anti-male prejudiced social workers seem to be the norm. Women have “choice”. Being a pedophile is now considered by many to be a “choice”. Gay parenthood is considered a "choice" and a right. Almost every indecent activity is now considered by many to be a “choice” and a right. Animals have rights. Decent men have no rights. They have no “choice”. We always hear liberals talking about tolerance. Perhaps instead of cutting down men they need to show some tolerance. Some recent court battles have at least shown willingness for some men to fight for their rights. This is not men vs. woman.
