Gene LaBargeMay 8, 2002 The YWCA has fallen about as far from the Young Women’s “Christian” Association as it can go. Hiring Patricia Ireland as CEO is despicable. She is the former leader of the National Organization from Women (NOW), the radical feminist group that is rabidly pro-abortion and pro-homosexual. They are known for their anti-male, anti-family agenda. Ireland is married and admits to having a female “partner” as well. She is involved with GenderPac, an organization involved with promoting sex change and cross-dressing for teenagers. What part of a Christian organization does she belong in? When pressed on the O’Reilly Factor, she would not even say that she believed Jesus was Lord. Big surprise. Ireland has blasted John Ashcroft because of his belief of Jesus. Everything she represents seems to be anti- Christian. Is this someone any legitimate Christian group would even consider having an administrative roll of any kind? I understand that the YWCA has been far from a Christian organization for some time. When visiting their website, I could not find anything that says that the group is based on the Christian faith. I could find only vague references to Christianity in the history section. It is obvious that the name is nothing more than a lure for young girls. Any Christian involved in this organization should remove themselves far from it. This goes double if you have daughters involved. What they will learn here is a perversion of Christian principles. The bible is not pro-homosexuality or pro-abortion. Like it or not. This is another example of liberal organizations that seem noble on the surface, but in truth exist to push their filthy agenda. There are many groups that hide behind the cover of their name and do not live up to the promise. Groups like the NAACP, NOW, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU among countless others. Don’t judge a group on what it’s called or what it claims to do. You must go deeper to see what their real motives are. It is obvious that the YWCA’s motive is perverting Christianity.
