Gene LaBargeNov 21, 2002 Despite the embarrassing losses in the latest election, Tom Daschle has not learned any lessons. He is already in attack mode. He thinks the war on terror has been a failure. Can he possibly be that dumb? Many terrorists have been captured or killed. About $115 million in terrorist assets have been seized. Homeland Security is a go. The victories against terrorism have been nothing less than amazing. Lets not forget the swift victory in Afghanistan and putting Saddam Hussein on final notice. We are still under threat from terrorism simply because of the large numbers of terrorists. This is a real war. Daschle and many of his fellow liberals want to make getting Bin Ladin the goal. President Bush has said from the beginning that the war does not end with the death or capture of Bin Ladin. While we certainly would love to get him, the truth is, the terrorist goals would not change. Osama is now just a symbol and would remain that way after death. If Bin Ladin were dead, Daschle would change the war barometer to some other foolish measure. Think about the fact that all Bin Ladin has been able to muster in the past year is an audiotape. Is that winning the war? The last video of Bin Ladin showed someone who is either very sick, injured or starving. Who is winning the war? If Tom Daschle’s side is losing the war, which side is he on? Tom, what were you doing while the terrorists infiltrated our country and became the worldwide menace that they are today? What are you doing now to help? You have caused more harm than you have helped. You have continuously shown our enemies that you do not support the President. No matter how much success Bush has, you search for the negative and then blow it way out of proportion. What you do is give hope and comfort to our enemies. You might as well be a cheerleader for our enemies. All you need is a turban, some pompoms and a skirt. You seem to be something far less than a patriot and something less than a man. Now Daschle is lashing out against Rush Limbaugh. He is accusing him of angering listeners into making threats against his family. How desperate has he become? He does not want the truth to be spoken. He doesn’t seem to have a problem with Dan Rather or other members of the liberal media. His own party demonizes conservatives and accuses them of wanting to poison the air, kill the elderly and starve the children. It appears Daschle and much of his party have not learned any lessons from the past election. I shudder to think of where we would be if these guys were in power at a time like this. ------------ Gene LaBarge is an aspiring political commentator and publisher of several websites including abfnews.com.
