Feb 27, 2003 The NFL draft is approaching soon and with it brings the opportunity for some fortunate team to pick up a particularly impressive defensive end - Terrell Suggs of Arizona State. Suggs holds the NCAA single-season record for sacks, an eye-opening 24 times he got to the quarterback. Some see Suggs as another Jevon Kearse. Suggs could even prove to be better if teamed up with a couple of other significant front line players. After Kearse's super first season teams began to double-team him and his numbers dropped noticeably. Having one hot lineman is not enough anymore; usually two or three top linemen are necessary to make an another team sweat. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were very successful because they had several high-impact attackers on the front line, including Simeon Rice, Warren Sapp and Anthony "Booger" McFarland. Suggs by himself won't be enough to overcome the double-teaming thrown his way. However, any team with one or so hot linemen can instantly become a defensive powerhouse with the addition of this unique athlete.
