Mar 4, 2003 For the past several years the Cincinnati Reds have shown strong promise, at times even leading the National League Central Division. However, as the season heads into the home stretch, the Reds have faded badly. The Reds have a group of good young players but the one player all eyes are on has been Ken Griffey Jr. Injuries have kept him out of the lineup fairly frequently in the past few years. To many he has been a disappointment, not producing for the Reds like he did in Seattle. There was much speculation on the idea that Cincinnati would trade Griffey before the season started. However, Griffey is still with the Reds. Will Griffey get back in the groove and help the Reds make the step up into the playoffs? That is one of the bigger questions that will be answered as this season opens in the National League.
