Coulter's New Book Dead-On
July 3, 2003

Ann Coulter's new book Treason is dead-on. Much of the book is dedicated to exploding the liberal myths that have surrounded such people as the Senator Joseph McCarthy and FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover, among others.

"McCarthyism" as become part and parcel of the left's lexicon when describing anything critical of the left--as though being a "McCarthyite" should be something of which to be ashamed. In point of fact, NO ONE accused by Senator McCarthy of being a communist or communist-sympathizer during those early cold-war years has been shown to be innocent of those charges, and he was right. The U.S. State Department WAS riddled with 'em, compromising our national security to an extraordinary degree. Sen. McCarthy was an alcoholic, but then so were Ernest Hemingway, W. C. Fields, and my Uncle Bernard. What does that have to do with anything? The left tagged him with that charge amid veiled accusations that he was a closet homosexual as though, if true, either charge would automatically disqualify him from being taken seriously.

The left's done pretty much the same to J. Edgar Hoover. Based on one leftist author's statement in a book about Hoover that he was a cross- dressing homosexual, the charge has been repeated so often that kids today believe it to be true. It ISN'T.

Don't you find it odd that the party that purports to "support" gays always seems to use homosexuality as a vilifying appelation when describing someone they hate? It's just another example of the utter hypocrisy of the left, and, in particular, the Democrat Party.

What do these two men have in common? Both were effective in fighting against communist infiltration of our government and other institutions. Unfortunately, there was little two lone men could do to stem the tide. One of the reasons the USSR went belly-up with the enormous amounts of money they poured into the U.S. to finance subversive organizations and their activities. The Students for Democratic Action (SDS) on American campuses was almost entirely funded through various intermediaries from the Soviet Union. That fact might even answer the question of what Bill Clinton was doing in Moscow in January of 1969 when he was supposedly a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford but was really spending most of his time protesting in front of the U.S. Embassy against the war in Vietnam. I've always wondered why someone who purportedly went as "a tourist" would choose JANUARY to visit a city only a few miles outside of the Arctic Circle and whose average daily HIGH temperature during that week was 19 degrees below zero F!
