July 21, 2003 Innocent or Guilty. Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers Superstar, Is he guilty or innocent, time will tell. Some will say he's guilty and some will say not, no matter what the the truth is he will be ruined for life. Advertising dollars gone, career image gone, and family man image gone, many will feel sorry for him some will want blood. He was in the limelight as one of the greatest basketball players of all-time coming out of high school to play a mans sport, a child, just like the child he is being accused of assaulting. What happened that night in Colorado, will we ever know the truth, probably not but I do know we have ruined one more life of someone, if Kobe is guilty he is facing probation to life in prison, if Kobe is innocent he is facing a life long publicity onslaught to ruin what dignity he has left. With the young woman, some have reported that she is doing this to launch a career in singing, huge risk to get in the limelight, if Kobe is guilty we will see her on every television show from the east coast to the west coast, but if Kobe is innocent, what career could she have then, most people will label her as the young woman who tried taking down an icon in sports, the next Monica Lewinsky, who knows, what dignity does she have left if she was assaulted.
