Apr 26, 2004 Hmm... where to begin? Well, how about the war. Were fighting in Fallujah and have Najaf surrounded. All of this because of some wannabe cleric named Al-Sadr. Now it is rather clear that he is being backed by the Iranians. Now if the Iranian government is causing the problems doesn't it make sense to deal with the Iranians? Clear out the hornets nest before you get stung. The Iranian people deserve freedom as much as the Iraqis did. Eliminating the thugs of Tehran would cripple Islamic terrorism. Now a lot has been said about Pat Tillman. A true hero, but let's not forget the rest who have fallen in defense of their country. Hundreds have given their lives to end the islamofascist threat to our nation. We should remember them all as heores. I have been reading biographies of Presidents. I just finished Carl Sandburg's bio of Lincoln. Truly a great man. But in reading these biographies it reminds me why I am a republican. The democratic Presidents, all the way back to Jefferson, have been weak on defense and on foreign policy. They always gut the military, and leave us unprepared then scream bloody murder when something happens. So, it is no wonder that I will be casting a vote for George W. Bush in November. Speaking of books, it seems that almost anyone can write a book these days. Either Publishing is a lot easier, or the standards for what is worth reading has plummeted. For example a man named Jonathan Kirsch has just written a book called GOD AGAINST THE GODS: The History of the War Between Monotheism and Polytheism. His thesis is an old one continually recycled by Christophobes and atheists. That the world would be better off with the enlightend Pantheon of Rome and Greece than with Christianity. That the dark ages were the result of Christianity. Hmmm... I guess they are forgetting, St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Dante, Isaac Newton, Galielo, Copernicus, Descartes. All Christians, not to mention all the others. Yes, we would have been better off with the Amoral gods of olympus. The more I think about it the more I think we need term limits and we need them now. If it were up to me a house member could only serve two terms, and nonconsecutively. They would have to sit out four years before serving their second and last term. I would make it so the Senate was chosen by the state legislatures, like it originally was and one term and one term only. Maybe then we could get soemthing out of our elected officials other than pork. But that's probably wishful thinking. ------------ Email Craig Chamberlain: craig_chamberlain@hotmail.com Tell a friend about this site! ------------ |
