Bush In 2004!
Feb 25, 2004

"The American people will decide between two visions of government that encourages ownership and responsibility, or a government that toakes your money and makes your choices"

So beigns Chuck Tylers column. Yes Chuck it is an attempt to differentiate. And I think he did it quite well. Under President Clinton we had the largest peace time income confiscation, oops I mean tax hike in history. President Bush righted that wrong and gave the money back to the people that earned it. Consequently the economy grew by 8.2% and the unemployment rate has fallen from a high of 6.1% to 5.6% now. We're very close to what economists call full employment.

What responsibility? Are you senile chuck? Have you forgotten the 8 years of clinton. Was there responsibilty when he was running the show? Or have you forgotten every single scandal that came down the line from whitewater, to his selling of presidential pardons? Responsibility? Perahaps you are talking about John Kerry. A man who admittedly served bravely in Vietnam but then came home and accused the soldiers of war crimes and compared them to the hordes of ghengis khan. Is that responsible?

Now, am I as a conservative happy with the spending? No. But lets keep things in perspective. Bushs overspending, which is fueled by a greedy congress made up of porkers from both parties, will pale in comparison to that of the eventual nominee of the democratic party.

"Bush is advocating a mandate to tell you who to marry." What? I didn't here george tell me who to marry. He didn't say craig marry so and so. If you are refering to gay marriage then I take it that you are in favor of it and the consequential erosion of american society that will follow it. Perhaps you are forgetting that it was a democrat that passed a federal law defining marriage as between a man and a woman. All Bush is doing is keeping the meddling courts out of a 5,000 year old instituion.

"And has dictated how to educate ouor children without funding" By this rant I suppose you a refering to NCLB. Ah yes, we all know that before the federal government got into the education business by throwing billions of dollars into a black hole no one got an education. How dare bush hold schools accountable for not teaching schoolchildren to even read and write.

"Oh, and by the way, you will be at the mercy of rapacious drug companies when you become dependant on Medicare, thanks to Bush's edict on health insurance for the elderly." What the same drug companies that invest billions of dollars into research that creat life saving drugs? Yes truly terrible to be at their mercy, than say a government beareaucracy that keeps drugs off the market. So here you are, the rational one, saying that the democrats will be the party of ownership and now are into a rant against drup companies. Typical leftist. Intellectually incosistent. Praising ownership until it gets in the way of your agenda. I trust Pfzer more than the FDA.

"Our democratic candidates are advocating fair trade, not free trade." No, what they are advocating is sky high tarrifs(taxes) on imports that will be paid by the little guy in higher prices. Keep in mind that it was a democrat that enacted NAFTA, and the predicted econmic collapse did not occur. Now you have made me real mad as you have made me defend clinton! Tariffs means that there are fewer foreign made goods, which are cheaper, are on the shelf. This means that since there is less competition there is higher prices. The consumers you claim to protect will be hurt by protectionism. They always are.

Given the choice between prosecuting the war on terrorism and cutting and running as is the democratic strategy and the above mentioned problems Bush is the obvious choice. Thanks Chuck. You have once again shown that leftists are incapable of being rational as they are completely controlled by their emotions. " I feel therefore I am" could be the motto of the deomcratic party.
